August 15, Subnautica 2 Developers unknown Worlds submitted a mood against the studio's former leadership team and accused them of downloading and retaining confidential business files before their July rash. The new mood was submitted weeks after the former Subnautica 2 Leaders sued Krafton, the game's publisher, accused them of delaying the project until 2026 to avoid paying bonuses to the development group.
The mood of unknown worlds came over a month after its owner, krafton, fired Subnautica 2Three-person leadership teams, which consisted of Charlie Cleveland, Max McGuire and Ted Gill at that time. The three were removed on July 2 without a warning, and Krafton appointed industry veteran Steve Papoutis as CEO of unknown worlds. Papaouti's previous work includes acting as senior and executive producer of Death space Series, and as CEO of Striking Distance Studios, another Krafton daughter company.
Unknown worlds are subnautica 2's ex-leaders
Days after Krafton issued a formal response to the ongoing case against them, unknown worlds have aroused a new trial against their former leaders. In an edited public archiving made in a Delaware rights room (and confirmed by game developers), unknown worlds Cleveland, McGuire and Gill accused over 170,000 confidential business files that are alleged to be downloaded just before their time with the company ended. The suit was submitted in the same Delaware Court that saw Krafton issue its response to the former Subnautica 2 leadership. Unknown worlds claimed that the files contained information on intangible property, business registers and other forms of sensitive information.
According to the mood, McGuire downloaded 99,902 files before he ended, with Cleveland download of 72 140 files as well. However, Cleveland stopped its downloads just eight minutes before unknown worlds had locked him out of access to the system. Unknown worlds added that the downloads were the largest from all three former leaders since at least 2022. After their removal from unknown worlds, the three previous Subnautica 2 Leaders submitted a mood against Krafton.
Cleveland, Gill and McGuire stated that Krafton had delayed Subnautica 2 to 2026 to avoid paying the unknown World Development Team a bonus of $ 250 million to be shared between staff to meet specific criteria for early access in 2025. By delaying Subnautica 2Previous access to 2026, this would make unknown worlds unlikely to meet Krafton's criteria and miss the bonuses as a result. As things stand, only time will tell you how the legal issues between Subnautica 2 And the game's former leader will play.
