With the new and improved Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 available to players, some may be new to the franchise, while others are just starting their journey. Whichever page you're on, there are plenty of tips and tricks you can use to get started with as few bumps as possible.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is meant to be a relaxing and enjoyable game, but making sure you have the right settings to ensure you have a smooth start will greatly improve the game. Here's what you need to know before you jump in and start your first flight.

Select Optimal Control Settings

• Then go to Options and select Control options. From here you can start with the default profile and customize it to your liking.
• The most important setting you want to adjust is sensitivity. For Pitch/Roll it is recommended to start with -50% sensitivity, 0% throttle sensitivity and -20% rudder/rotation sensitivity.
• Then you can edit the key bindings in control options to your preference. You can change these as you get more used to the game.

Take a dive into career mode

Within Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024playable on Game Pass, players now have the chance to take part in a career mode. There are a few different careers that you can explore in the game, including:

All of these careers offer a variety of assignments to take off in the right way in your chosen field. This includes managing timetables and passenger satisfaction, delivering supplies, helping and evacuating people in medical emergencies, crop dusting and much more.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 was lacking in the career department, offering only free flight mode, discovery flights, landing challenges, bus trips, training mode, live events and activities. This title still offers free flight, but now allows players to enter one more structured and linear gameplay with the career mode, as well as Aerial Work Missions, which allow you to participate in individual career missions without having to commit to the entire career path.

Adjust the graphics

The next tip you want to consider is adjusting the graphics during your gameplay. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 was notorious for being an incredibly powerful game that demanded a lot from your chosen system. The same applies to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024so you'll want to make sure to immediately adjust the graphics settings when you boot up the game.

As long as you have an up-to-date system, you can often start with medium settings without much trouble. You can then change it from there, where you can increase it to high or even ultra to get the best view of your aircraft and surroundings. Modern computers will be able to handle high, but running the game on ultra can be difficult unless you have the most top-tier system available. For best performance, we recommend focusing on adjust your FPSor frame rate, to ensure the game runs as smoothly as possible with little hiccups.

Check out the multiplayer options

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is about the multiplayer options and community. One of the best things you can do is make sure you frequently check out available multiplayer events and social media discussions. There are plenty of multiplayer missions to explore, and Shared Skies lets you see other players through air traffic as they fly past you.

• Featured events, which include air races, challenges and community milestones.
• Community events, which are created by users.
• Seasonal events, which are often linked to holidays.

Explore the world beyond the plane

IN Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024players can now completely leave their plane and explore the world around them just by taking a walk, either through airports or surrounding environments. This is something newbies must check out, as it's a great way to experience all the new areas up close.

There are 27 detailed biomes for you to explore, including jungles and tundras, and you can choose World Photographer Mode to take pictures of the surrounding areas. While some may not be aware of this feature and may miss it, it is something that greatly improves the gameplay of the 2020 title.
