Solo department is often criticized for being hyper -focused on his protagonist, Sung Jinwoo, whose journey of self -discovery sometimes seems to be the central and only theme in the series. While several interesting characters have debuted during the first two seasons, most have been moved to irrelevance over time. Because of this, the story sometimes feels predictable.
But it may change Solo department Season 3 as the last episode of the second part suggests a major change in the story. Although many fans may have thought about it a bit, an underrated moment has already found that Jinwoo's world is changing dramatically, with forces of evil that makes its movement, and someone specially observes the drama develops. The special individual is none other than Sung's father, a watchful protector who can have the key to the answers he is looking for.

Solo Living: Will Sung Jinwoo ever meet his father?
Sung Jinwoo's father was introduced in Solo Living Season 2, but will he ever meet Sung Ii-Hwan in the series? Here is the answer.
Sung Il-Hwan on Jeju Island: The Mystery about Sung's father
Jinwoo's father knows something that the rest of humanity is not yet calculated
- Anime debut: Section 15, entitled “Still a long way to go”
- Webtoon debut: Chapter 56
Sung Jinwoo's father, Sung Il-Hwan, used to be a dedicated family man who would do everything to keep everyone safe. The Sung family seemed to do well. After marrying the love of his life, Park Kyung-Hye, Il-Hwan had two children with them. Although he originally worked as a firefighter, his life took an unexpected turn after he experienced an awakening. Il-Hwan was no ordinary hunter; He was perhaps one of the first S-rankers from Korea. But since the international ranking system was not formalized in his present form, he never had to enjoy the benefits he deserved.
I will protect my family, even if it means turning all hunters in the world against me.
But on an ordinary day, the Sung family's life took a dramatic turn. During a raid, Jinwoo's father was captured into a dungeon and adopted death. After his disappearance, Onus fell to raise the children on the park's shoulders, who tried their best to keep their family happy. But at some point she was diagnosed with eternal sleep and fell into a coma. While the singing family fought financially and emotionally for several years, unaware of them, Il-Hwan was still alive. He was found in a gate in America eventually, after which he was arrested by the Federal Bureau of Hunters.
Suspected of being a magical animal, an investigation began to understand his origin. Since he could only speak Korean, Hwang Dongsoo was responsible for interrogating him. Although Il-Hwan was originally reasonable and cooperative, things took a dark turn when Dongsoo claimed that Jinwoo was dead. After noticing S-Ranker's murderous intention, Il-Hwan Berserk became the head office and dropped him. Once again, he disappeared without a trace.
Instead of trying to reunite with his family, however, Il-Hwan was seen again on Jeju Island, as if he kept an eye on the monarch's movements. It is unclear how he got there from America, but it is obvious that he is delayed to meet his family for some strange reason. This special moment in the Season 2 final was short and probably overlooked by many fans like not being so important. But it gives context to a deep conflict in the game and also answers some of the most important questions that may have been worrying fans.
It is remarkable that the monarchs arrived at the scene to confirm that someone powerful helped the people. What is more interesting is the fact that they were investigating in the exact place where Jinwoo had fought King. It seems reasonable to conclude from their short conversation that the monarchs understood that any non-human unit lent their power to sing but was uncertain why.
Since Sung Il-Hwan followed these ancient monsters, it may be possible that he also understood their unfortunate plans and maybe even knew something about the origin of Jinwoo's powers. But what could be so important that he neglected his family for it, even though he didn't meet them for over a decade?
Jinwoo, il-hwan and the monarchs
A conspiracy that can change humanity forever
It is interesting that Sung Il-Hwan has already revealed some secrets that may be the key to finding out the mystery behind his disappearance and how it all connects to a large conspiracy that will play an important role in solo-level season 3. When Dongsoo had interrogated him, he had questioned S-rank's knowledge and magic. Il-Hwan had argued that regardless of supernatural phenomena related to the dungeons that humanity has encountered so far was just the tip of an iceberg.

Solo leveling season 3: Jinwoo will be very important, but 1 character will play an even bigger role
Solo Living Season 3 will highlight a character even more than Jinwoo.
He then claimed something scary. According to Sung Il-Hwan, a power that could construct a disaster woke up and humanity was at risk. He also expressed that it was his goal to ensure that such a disaster had not fallen humanity. It is a rather interesting development that his son is also assigned unthinkable power. At the moment it would be fair to say that something unfortunate will come after humanity, and there is not enough time left. So much that Il-Hwan cannot spare for a moment to stop his investigation and reunite with his family.
Based on what the monarchs said about Jinwoo, all this must have a certain relationship with Jinwoo's forces as well, and probably involve the ancient monsters as well. It explains why Sung Il-Hwan so desperately chases these monarchs, but a clear explanation may only come in solo leveling season 3. Fans can expect to find out the origin of Jinwoo's forces and also learn the truth behind Sung Il-Hwan's disappearance and his bizarre activities in the upcoming payment.
Solo Living season 3 expected to be released sometime between 2026 and 2028.
