Things that are likely to happen in Squid Game season 3

Season 2 of Netflix's critically acclaimed dystopian thriller series, OctopusEnded up on an intense rockhanger who left fans around the world and asked for more. Fortunately for them, however, they will not have to wait long, as the streaming giant will release the third and final season on June 27, 2025.

Still, they still die to know what will happen to their favorite characters, such as Seong Gi-Hun, Hwang In-Ho or Cho Hyun-Ju. While all they can do right now is waiting, there are already many exact predictions of the events that are likely to occur during Octopus Season 3 and these are the most interesting.

The iconic game will be repeated but with a twist

It denies nothing Red light, green light is the most recognizable game in all OctopusBecause it served as the opening act for the games during both seasons. Of course, the show has not repeated a single game yet, but it seems that Season 3 will finally break that tradition.

Campaign material and Mid-Document scene in Season 2's last episode have revealed that there is another animatronic doll called Cheol-Su, which will follow the iconic Young-Hee in what is slowly forming to be Season 3's deadliest game so far. It seems that players will be forced to freeze to avoid the vision of two unpleasant dolls at the same time, a huge challenge that will surely end in the sudden deaths for many beloved characters.

Kang Dae-Ho will regret his actions in the last section

Park Jung-Bae's death will have a huge impact on him

During Season 2's climate shooting, Kang Dae-Ho Was supposed to go back to the dorms to gather more ammunition from the dead pink soldiers, but the situation overwhelmed him, which led to him suddenly suffering a panic attack that prevented him from moving. This only mistake played a major role in the failure of the uprising, and it indirectly caused the death of Gi-Hun's good friend, Park Jung-Bae.

Netflix has already revealed some pictures from Season 3, and one of them shows the surviving characters who respond to the coffin to an invisible person. The fact that both have managed to survive so far is nothing more than a miracle, but their relationship is already at stake, especially after Yong-Sik failed to save his mother under Mingle, and after he voted to stop at more than one occasion. Due to the reckless nature of this show, it is very easy to assume that either the mother or the son will die at a point in season 3. The only question is who will meet their end first and how the other will react.

Someone will kill nam-gyu

One of the show's most contemptible villains will have a violent death

Two antagonistic players were introduced in Octopus Season 2: Choi Su -Bong – better known as Thanos – and his craftsmen, Nam-gyu. While they previously entertained the audience with their exaggerated discoveries, the latter became one of the show's most hated characters, especially after he staked SE-Mi to death in front of Min-Su during the special game.

Thanos was an entertaining villain, so it's really a shame that he was killed in an unpleasant way during the bathroom riot. Still, Nam-gyu is still alive and in possession of his dead friend's drugs, so he will definitely spend most of Season 3 terrorize the other players, both during the games and between them. This will lead to his inevitable death, which will probably be caused by another character, such as Min-Su or Myung-Gi.

Kang No-Eul will save Park Gyeong-Seok

A controversial character that will search her redemption

Season 2 did something fascinating and refreshing by introducing the character of Kang no-eulA North Korean defector who was hired to work as a pink soldier during the 2024 games. This enabled the authors to show how they work from the inside, while showing a more ruthless (albeit human) side of the soldiers.

But No-Eul was tied to players 246, Gyeong-SeokThe father of a young girl suffering from cancer that she met when she worked in a theme park. Gyeong-Seok apparently was shot by a random pink soldier at the end of season 2, but strangely enough, the camera is cut away before it is shown where they were aimed. Fans predicted that this was No-Eul, who would take advantage of this opportunity to save Gyeong-Seok and take him out of the games, so that he could finally go back to his sick daughter.

Hwang jun-ho will finally confront hwang in-ho

The long -awaited meeting between two brothers

Season 1 contained an important subplot with focus on Hwang June-Hoa police officer who infiltrates the games while looking for his missing brother, In-Ho. In the last section, he discovers that In-Ho is none other than the masked front man, just before his brother shoots him. Fortunately, Jun-Ho survived the meeting, and he spent most of season 2 on a boat and tried to find the island where the games take place so he can both save Gi-Hun and meet his brother again.

After two full seasons of build-up, season 3 will probably contain this long-awaited meeting between Jun-Ho and In-Ho, and it will definitely be both extremely tense and emotionally. But fans are still wondering: Will Jun-Ho succeed in saving his brother and convince him to leave his position? Or will one of them die before the end of history?

Seong Gi-Hun comes back to his family

The main character's mission will end (but at what cost?)

Since it has already been confirmed that season 3 will be the last season of Octopusthe story of the main character of the show, Seong Gi-Hunwill also end. But based on where exactly the end of season 2 left him, many crucial events must happen before he can finally rest and go back to his family.

During the Season 1 final, Gi-Hun decided not to go to the United States so that he could stay in South Korea and put a stop to the deadly games that have taken their lives for so many innocent people. So provided he can complete his assignment in Season 3, it would be nice to see him meet his daughter once and for all. Although there is a dark but realistic opportunity that Gi-Hun will not come to the end alive, and he will meet her as a corpse instead.

The show will not have a satisfactory conclusion if the games are still active

Season 1 introduced both the viewers and the characters to the Titul games, which showed the desperation of people with financial struggles and how those who use this to take advantage of them. Season 2, however, went in a different direction, as it put a greater focus on Gi-Hun's mission to finally stop them once and for all.

Because of this, it is crucial for Season 3 to finally show that the games are dismantled and their organizers (including the front man and VIPs) are stopped, whether killed or arrested. As fun and chaotic as they can be for the audience, these violent games have resulted in countless deaths, not to mention that they work as a horrible reminder of how capitalism works. So it would be extremely unsatisfactory if the games were still going on after the story of Octopus is over.
