The decision to divide Wicked into two parts was a controversial decision. The Broadway show runs for two hours 45 minutes, while the movie shaves only five minutes of it at two hours 40, but only covers the first half. After rave reviews and a gross of $ 750 million, it seems that the split was the right decision – and more could come.

The unpredictable tariffs continue to cause upheaval throughout the entertainment industry.
We do not completely know if this was a positive move until the second half, wicked: for good, theaters will meet later this year. The second act is generally thought of as weaker, while the two most iconic songs (popular and defied gravity) are both in the first film. But now it seems that there will not only be a second movie, but maybe a third as well.
“A little” of jump for wicked 3
Winnie Holzman, who spoke with Screen Rant on the red carpet in the New York City Tisch Gala, was asked about a potential third film. Holzman wrote the musical's book, as well as co -written both evil and evil: for good with Dana Fox. When asked if she had any ideas to expand the story, her answer can fill the fans with hope. “Kind. A little. Yes, a little. Nothing right.”
“Nothing right” emphasizes that if discussions are going on, they are at an early stage, or at least the evil team keeps some plans under cover. But if there had been no plans – the musical's story will end with for good, after all – the question could have been closed politely. Instead, Holzman leaves the door open.

There are obvious challenges for all plans. A good piece of Wicked's popularity as a movie comes from its popularity as a musical, which would not extend to an original sequel. It also does not originate from the books, which have a sequel, but rely on characters that are not in the film. The books obviously have no songs, which means that even if they were adapted, they would probably take much more work than moving from the theater step to the audio stage.
The third film can also be completely original, but it would also mean much more work, plus the difficulty of appealing to the hardcore fandom that has very specific (read: gay) ideas for the fate of the heroines, as well as entertaining a more general audience less aware of the thousands of headcanons, the biggest fans will not see. Whatever happens, we probably won't hear until after Wicked: Too good arrives on our screens in November, but hopefully it's not the last of Wicked for good.
