The Well Armed event starts on December 11th Pokémon GOadding new global challenges for players to work alongside while rewarding new bonuses and encounters. December is already looking like a busy month Pokémon GO players with Niantic teased plenty of content along the way.
While Niantic showed off a December 2025 content roadmap Pokémon GOthe studio has been very communicative with fans about what to expect. This includes plans for December's Community Day, which follows the pattern of previous years bringing back Pokémon from each of the past 12 months. During December 6th and 7th, players will find a variety of Pokémon from previous Community Day 2025 events, including Totodile, Pawmi, Pikipek, Jagmo-o, and more. Following that, Niantic has also revealed the first details of its Well Armed event.

Kicking off on December 11 at 10am local time, players can take part in new Global Challenges as part of the Well Armed event. Niantic reveals that players will need to work together to complete challenges available throughout the event, including completing Pokémon GOs Max Battles.
While Niantic didn't provide any concrete details or specifications on how many Max battles will need to be completed, it will unlock global bonuses for all players, such as increased candy as well as encountering Mienfoo and Jangmo-o in the wild. For those who want a little more, there will be special Paid Timed Research and Web Store offers as well.
However, completing the challenges will also unlock the debut of the Tantrum Pokémon known as Clobbopus, and its evolved form Grapploct from Pokemon Sword and Shield. Lucky players can also find them in the wild or during Field Research encounters during the event. To evolve Clobbopus into Grapploct, players must accumulate 50 candies for fighting-type Pokémon.
Outside of the Global Challenge, the Well Armed event also provides other bonuses that don't need to be unlocked. Specifically, players will earn twice as much candy for catching Pokemon, as well as have an increased chance of encountering shiny variants of Pokémon GOs Dynamax versions of Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan. Event-themed field research tasks will also be available with unique rewards such as TMs. Event themed Pokemon will also be more available such as Octillery, Poliwag, Machop, Makuhita and more.
