It is unsurprising to many people to hear that in the manga industry, Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Pieceis one of the most common names and among the most influential people. Of course, this depends on One Piece's great financial success and became the best-selling manga of all time. Due to his huge role in the history of Weekly Shonen Jump, Oda can have a lot of influence when recommending a manga. A few years ago, Eiichiro Oda recommended a recent shonen hit manga, called Akane Banashi. This manga has since gained in popularity, and now, finally, it is getting an anime adaptation after a few years. Fans are hopeful that this anime will make it grow in popularity even more, and perhaps become a very successful Weekly Shonen Jump manga series.
3 female Yonko level characters in one piece
One Piece has many powerful female characters, but only a handful of them are Yonko level.
Akane Banashi was recommended by Eiichiro Oda in 2022
Akane Banashi is a brilliant manga series that made its debut back in 2022, which is four years ago now. In these four years, this manga has gone strong and grown in popularity to the point where it has now received an anime adaptation. Akane Banashi is certainly very interesting, but it definitely needs a push to make it a global phenomenon.
Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece, has helped Akane Banashi a lot in that regard. In 2022, Oda continued to recommend Akane Banashi to her fans. His comment definitely helped put the series on a bigger radar as it can be quite difficult for new mangaka to get new readers to try and read their manga.
It's quite common to see popular mangakas asked to recommend a Weekly Shonen Jump story to readers. Because of their massive presence, readers are more willing to check out certain stories that might otherwise not get enough attention. Something similar was seen with Horikoshi, the creator of My Hero Academia, who recommended and helped popularize Ichi the Witch, one of the most popular new manga for the magazine, as well as Kagurabachi.
What's even more interesting in this case is that Akane Banashi's creator, Takamasa Moue, was formerly an assistant to Eiichiro Oda. In that regard, it's great to see Oda recommend and help with the manga by his former assistant. It's not common for Oda to recommend a manga, and it's only happened a handful of times in his now nearly 30-year career. Oda's help definitely pushed this manga forward.
Akane Banashi's anime will be released soon on April 4, 2026
Although Oda recommended Akane Banashi in 2022 when it published its very first manga volume, four years have now passed and Akane Banashi is about to cement itself as a huge hit series through its anime adaptation, which will air very soon. Last year, fans were actually surprised to see this manga series finally get an anime adaptation announcement. Akane Banashi's anime is finally coming on April 4, 2026.

Right now, the number of episodes as well as where the anime will end in relation to the manga is not entirely clear. However, it can be said with absolute certainty that it will be an unforgettable journey for the fans. This story is unique, as it covers the art of rakugo. Hopefully the anime adaptation lives up to the hype and doesn't drop the ball for such a highly anticipated manga.

Akane Banashi is already a huge manga, and it will see great success with an anime
Akane Banashi is already a fairly successful manga series. It's one of Weekly Shonen Jump's biggest manga, although it can't compare to the likes of One Piece, Jujutsu Kaisen, or My Hero Academia. For what it's worth, it's done pretty well in the sales department. However, it is a given that when its anime debuts next month, it will reach new heights of popularity. After all, the anime is generally meant to be an advertisement for the manga.
Many fans hope Akane Banashi's adaptation goes well, unlike what happened with another Weekly Shonen Jump hit, Sakamoto Days. Sakamoto Days received a sub par anime adaptation which was disappointing for the popularity it had. The anime for Akane Banashi will be handled by a smaller studio known as Studio ZEXCS, and while that may seem worrisome, this studio may continue to surprise many as Akane Banashi shoots for the stars.
