How to get Band of Braccus in Divinity: Original Sin 2
Band of Braccus Location in DOS2
The Band of Braccus can be found by killing and looting Trompdoy in the Dark Caverns in Divinity: Original Sin 2. The Dark Caverns can be accessed via a hidden entrance on the rocky beach between the Gargoyle's Maze and the Sanctuary of Amadia, south of where you meet the Burning Pigs (X:513, Y:76).
You will be attacked by four Void Salamanders on the beach. There is no way out of this encounter, so prepare for battle.
Inside the Dark Cavern, you'll encounter Trompdoy near the entrance, and he'll strike up a conversation with you, warning you to stay away. Next to Trompdoy, you'll see some wooden crates and an underground river behind them. There is one invisible path crossing the river which only shows up when you step over it.
Use this path to go deeper into the Dark Caverns, and you will be ambushed by Trompdoy and his illusions. Defeat all the illusions here to proceed.
As you follow the narrow path that leads deeper into the dungeon, you'll find a stone room with several false doors and a statue in the center of the room. Talk to the statue and choose the following two options to solve the riddle:
-
Finish the sentence with “very horrible, rotten.”
-
A hex, a misery, a plague, a curse.
Solving the statue's riddle opens the locked door behind it, which is the only way forward. Here you will be attacked by Trompdoy's illusions againonly this time the real Trompdoy will attack with them. The real Trompdoy is the Aeromancer, recognizable by the fact that he has the “Cursed” status on him (visible when hovering over). Killing the real Trompdoy will destroy all his illusions and win you the fight.
Every time you destroy Trompdoy's illusions, you get 1200 XP. However, if you kill the real Trompdoy outright, all illusions die immediately and you don't get the extra experience. For maximum profit, it's best to focus on removing the illusions before focusing on Trompdoy.
After Trompdoy is defeated, loot his body to get it Band of Braccus.

The Cursed Ring Walkthrough in Divinity: Original Sin 2
The Cursed Ring Guide in DOS2
Whichever character raids the Band of Braccus from Trompdoy's corpse will get the quest “The Cursed Ring.” So, if Lohse picked it up, the mission would be named “The Cursed Ring – Lohse” in the journal. How to complete this quest:
-
Have the character who looted Trompdoy's body equip Band of Braccus. They will be cursed (accuracy -10%, evasion -30%, elemental resistances -15%).
-
Remove the Braccus tape and place it in your inventory.
-
Have another character wear the Band of Braccus, and the curse will shift to the new wearer.
This will complete the mission. All you have to do now is remove the curse from the other character's body to get out unscathed.
How to cure cursed status from Band of Braccus in DOS2
Traditionally, the main way to remove the Cursed status from a character is i Divinity: Original Sin 2 is by using Bless Source skill. However, Band of Braccus' Curse effect has a unique interaction with the Heart of the Tyrant armor piece (found in the last treasure room in the Dark Caverns) that allows players to get rid of the Cursed status without using Bless. The way it works is simple.
-
Equip Band of Braccus.
-
Equip the Heart of Tyrant Chest Armor.
-
Remove the Braccus tape.
-
Remove the heart of the Tyrant Chest Armor.
As long as the Ring and Chestpiece are equipped and unequipped in the order listed above, your character's cursed status will be removed. If you re-equip Band of Braccus, you will be cursed again. The sequence of events is what matters.
Fortunately, even if you mess it up, there's no permanent damage, as you can retry as many times as you want to get it right.
Bless can be obtained by visiting Hall of Echoes and hit your race's patron, and since it's a source skill, it can only be used once you've removed your source necklace to get rid of the Source-Muted effect.

How to use Band of Braccus in Divinity: Original Sin 2
Band of Braccus feature in DOS2
The Band of Braccus provides the following stats:
-
8 Magic Armor
-
+1 Intelligence
-
+1 Constitution
-
Set pissed off
As a regular piece of equipment, the Band of Braccus is useless because every time a user wears it, they are hit with the cursed status. Although a character's curse acquired from the Band of Braccus can be removed using the method described above, the curse on the ring itself is permanent. There is no way to bring in a “pure” Band of Braccus Divinity: Original Sin 2.
The Band of Braccus is not part of the Tyrant Set, and its cursed status is not removed when all parts of the set are collected and worn.
The main use of the Band of Braccus is to skip the Gargoyle's Maze puzzle and reach the end immediately. If a character is wearing it when they talk to the Gargoyle statue at the Gargoyle Maze entrance, the statue will think the character is Braccus Rex and teleport them (and the party) to the center of the maze in front of the tower. But if you do, you'll miss out on a lot of good loot found in the maze. Therefore, it is almost always better to not use the ring and go through the Gargoyle Maze the old-fashioned way.
