Catcher overview in Arknight's Endfield.

When you pull on the primary Headhunter banners for some of the rarer operators you can use in Arknights: Endfield, you'll end up with a range of four-star characters to enjoy using and pushing to carry you through the earliest hours of the main game until you've landed the coveted banner operators, and this is where you'll find the Catcher. As one defender Catcher mainly focuses on keeping the rest of the team safe with his amazing swordplay and valiant defensive ability, protecting the team and exerting all sorts of powerful physical pressure on enemies across the field. While he may not often be your controlled operator as you prefer more DPS-centric operators, Catcher is still a strong choice for parties that may need some extra defense in their otherwise offensively strong team comps.

With so much emphasis on his physical abilities, you won't be surprised to see that his main attribute is his powerful Strengthand his steadfast Will comes in a close second as his secondary attribute as well.

If you are looking for a way to do more physical damage with your other Strength-based operators at the same time mitigate the damage your team takes in combat, Catcher will likely be a mainstay in any team comp for Arknights: Endfield that relies on physical prowess over elemental ailments. Find ways to play well with him by adding a steady stream of statuses like Weaken, Vulnerable and Knocked Down with the wide range of balanced offensive and defensive moves in his kit.

Exemplary

Six star

  • Strength Boost

  • Attack Boost

  • Physical Damage Boost

Although the physical damage increase is due to having used Catcher's Battle Skill or Ultimate, both of which charge quite slowly compared to some other operators, the Exemplar great sword is still an excellent choice due to the impressive number of physical buffs it offers Catcher. He doesn't hit as often as other physical characters, so best make it count when he does!

Formerly Finery

Six star

  • Will Boost

  • Max HP Boost

  • Attack Boost

The former Finery Greatsword is likely better suited with a healing character, but with general defensive capabilities and a boost to both Will and max HP, Catcher is a strong contender to use the former Finery Greatsword as well if you're looking for continued use for your six-star weapon draws.

OBJ Heavy Burden

Five star

  • Strength Boost

  • Max HP Boost

  • Will Boost

His signature weapon, the Catcher, is almost designed to play with the OBJ Heavy Burden greatsword in Arknights: Endfield. It offers boosts to both of his stats (with a flat strength on the first and a general secondary attribute boost on the second, should you choose to give this weapon to someone else down the line), as well as an increase to the Catcher's maximum HP.

Akekuri

As one of the better starting characters when you start Headhunting in Arknights: Endfield, you'll find that Catcher thrive most when placed in physical damage teamsfoursomes that focus on dealing as many types of physical damage and status vulnerabilities as possible.

A good choice to do this is through pair Catcher with physical operators for the smoothest time for synergy on the battlefield. Your default character i End administrator makes an excellent choice given their similar prowess for physical damage and physical ailments in combat, and the free to play operator Chen Qianyu joining early in the game's main quest seamlessly fills a secondary slot to double the physical damage your team can deal.

Always On Duty art of Catcher in Arknight's Endfield.

In this set, Catcher plays one mainly defensive rolesetting up status issues for Endmin to drive home with Chen Qianyu on the sidelines to dish out ever potent damage.

The fourth slot for good Catcher team comps depends largely on what other operators you have. Akekuri is the best four-star character to play in this team skill, which helpfully regenerates SP to help the more offensive teammates use their stronger attacks even faster than normal. But if you have managed to draw him, Pogranichnik is a better choice in slot than Akekuri, replenishes more SP and deals much better damage.

We recommend not using Catcher on any elemental team comps you've put together so far in Arknights: Endfield, as his physical buffs and damage types won't do much to help Arts characters that focus on elemental damage or ailments.

Catcher Abilities Overview and Upgrade Priority

In the Catcher's kit, you'll find a variety of offensive and defensive moves, focusing on the skills that keep teammates safe as well as a defensive operator.

Catcher's full potential in Arknight's Endfield.

  • Catcher's Basic attack deals up to four bursts of physical damage, including an impressive 22 Stagger when you land a Final Strike with him as your controlled operator.

  • Summons his defensive abilities for his Combat skillCatch grants himself and all nearby teammates the protection status with his oversized shield, which returns a portion of your SP when used. If an enemy attacks the Catcher to the teammates with protection status, they will receive a pushback with physical damage and vulnerability applied.

  • Offensive and defensive at the same time, Catcher's Combo skill slams down on enemies dealing physical damage while protecting himself and another nearby teammate. It triggers when your controlled operator is below 40 percent health, or when an enemy charges up an attack to try and stop them in their tracks.

    • If you don't control Catcher when he uses this combo skill, the controlled operator will have priority when deciding which teammate to protect alongside himself. If you use him, the teammate appears to be randomly selected.

  • To focus more on their offensive power than defensive prowess, Catchers Final swings his greatsword twice to land good physical damage on nearby enemies and weaken them, before following it up with another slash that deals even more physical damage and knocks down any enemies it hits, leaving them vulnerable in the process.

As a defender, you'll want to upgrade Catcher's defensive skills and abilities first and foremost, paying attention primarily to his Battle Skill to start boosting how strong his shield can be. From there, his Ultimate and Combo Skill should take priority, with his Basic Attack relegated to last place, considering how many much stronger damaging operators you'll be running with Catcher.

As you continue to draw extra copies of Catcher from the Arknights: Endfield banners and raise his potential, you begin to unlock his Combat Talents. The first offers an extra bit of defense for every point of Will he has, and the second enhances his Ultimate, causing him to create shockwaves when he lands that deal a good amount of physical damage to every enemy they hit.
