One of the most prominent and important features of your Animal Crossing: New Horizons island is always your town song, the jingle that plays when you interact with your islanders. Isabelle lets you customize your ACNH songs, but thinking creatively can be difficult if you're not musically inclined.
Even with a seven-second time limit and a limited range of note options, you can still work impressive musical magic to make your city sound its best. We've found a handful of the best, catchiest, and most iconic town songs that you can create for your island songs in Animal Crossing.
Updated on January 2, 2026 by Gabrielle Castania: With the big update to bring Animal Crossing: New Horizons to Nintendo Switch 2 just around the corner, we're back to update our ACNH Town Songs list with a few more suggestions to help your island prepare for the new arrivals. Enjoy eight new city songs, as well as some improvements to our presentation in this list, to make sure your ACNH city song is the roughest it can be!
Totoro theme
My neighbor Totoro
A top contender for the most enchanting family animated film in the world is My Neighbor Totoro by Studio Ghibli. It follows a family that moves into an old house in the countryside where the two young daughters come to meet various spirits, including the huge and cuddly Totoro. You look at him and can hear his music in your head.
The 25 Best PC Games Like Animal Crossing
Sure, you can probably find other games on a Nintendo Switch, but if you have a PC and are an Animal Crossing fanatic, these games are for you.
To hear it outside of your head and in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you have to go to Leia Leilanis playlist. Here you can listen to the cute little theme song for the Ghibli mascot and who we wish was a character that would visit our cities and help our crops grow.
San's theme
Undertale
Much of the Undertale fandom is thanks to a lazy and arguably apathetic skeleton with mystical powers named Sans. He quietly observes your actions throughout the game, but you're generally happy to see him when he appears. This is partly because he has a sweet theme song to accompany his presence.
While Undertale and Animal Crossing: New Horizons are as different as night and day, Large spoon added Sans Theme to playlist. By having this Town Tune, you can imagine Sans watching the progress of your town from somewhere off-screen. Maybe your city is where he can find true relaxation and joy?
“Will Never Give You Up”
Rick Astley
This eclectic collection of urban music ideas from Reece includes the Family Guy theme, Aha's 1985 mega-hit “Take On Me,” the Super Mario Sunshine victory theme, and even the Windows XP startup sound.
The best single player games on Nintendo Switch
Every game you need to bring on your next solo vacation.
Admiring the complete randomness of the selection, we chose this excellent rendition of Rick Astley's “Never Gonna Give You Up” as our example. After all, who can resist Rick Rolling and their visitors?
The Chocobo theme
Final Fantasy
The Final Fantasy series seems to float casually between extreme drama and sequences where you need to do things like catch frogs in a swamp. Some of the earliest entries raised the stakes super high, but all that excitement was taken away when you got to ride the Chocobo for the first time. That's because it's a bit stingy and is a really happy song.
The Animal Crossing: New Horizons soundtrack is already pretty satisfying, though Large spoon have turned our attention to the Town Tune version. Put this on and you'll be smiling, but also hoping that some modder out there has made it possible to invite a Chocobo Villager to move to our towns.
A City With a Sea View
Kiki's delivery service
Studio Ghibli fans are sure to enjoy Leia Leilanis town tunes video, themed entirely around the anime studio. It features songs from Ghibli classics like Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, Ponyo, and Howl's Moving Castle, among several others.
Some songs have multiple versions, meaning you can choose, but this one takes us straight to Kiki in the bakery. It also has a second part that follows — we just wish we could use both!
Welcome to Dangan Island
Danganronpa
This selection of Danganronpa city songs covers several parts of the game and includes morning theme, body detection game and several songs from the series. Above is the music for Welcome to Dangan Island by CarelesssPrince.
If you want to hear some alternative Danganronpa songs, be sure to check out Sophisticated Stoners Danganronpa Town Tunes selection. We promise — Animal Crossing is way more useful than Danganronpa!
“The Final Countdown”
Europe
These ACNH songs cover a wide range of themes, including games, general music and holiday songs. Another firm favorite in this selection of CEO is the Final Fantasy 7 airship theme.
But we've chosen “The Final Countdown” by Europa because of how iconic and recognizable the classic rock song has always been. This version comes from exactly the part you expect and leaves you singing the rest in your head.
Route 201 Theme
Pokemon diamond and gem
Just as the various pocket monsters are sucked into Poke Balls, you yourself cannot escape the popularity of Pokemon. It's a series built on solid gameplay, a huge roster of colorful creatures, and a competitive community. With Generation 4, we had Pokemon Diamond and Pearl play a lovely song that we heard on our travels.
This is the music behind Route 201 and the recreated Town Tune was captured by Large spoon. Connect it to your music system and you can see yourself walking the same path, but you can't walk it yourself. Still, you can dress up your Villager as a Pokémon Trainer and hit the shops for related clothing and decor.
“It's a Small World”
Disney
This collection of Disney town pretend play Alex Brandenburg features music from the iconic Disney series Frozen, Tangled, Moana, Aladdin and several classic films from the Disney vault.
Despite the rich selection of options in the collection, we couldn't help but choose this iconic Disney ear mask, “It's A Small World”, from the Disney World ride of the same name. If you prefer more classic options that will make any Disney fanatic smile, be sure to check out the video to make your choice!
Toss a coin to your Witcher
The Witcher 3
If you turned up the volume when “Toss A Coin To Your Witcher” entered our lives – from the game or Netflix's The Witcher – we've got good news: the instant classic can now be recreated in your town and you're sure to be singing along every time. Thanks to Epiphagyniawe now feel Jaskier's vibes on our island.
Who knows, maybe the love of the song may have visitors helping you when they hear it. All together now “throw some bells to my villager, oh island of plenty, oh island of plenty.” It can be a hit, especially if you put out a tasteful donation box along with the show.
