It looks like Nintendo could in some way repeat its biggest mistake with the Super Mario 3D All-Stars, as the physical release of Super Mario Galaxy 1+2 will reportedly be “very difficult to get” at launch.
More than five years ago, Nintendo announced that it would celebrate Mario's 35th anniversary with a special release of some of his best games. That release, Super Mario 3D All-Stars, bark Has been a sludge-dunk anniversary present, but there were some big things that held it back.
Alongside strange not including Super Mario Galaxy 2 and as the most basic ports, the Super Mario 3D All-Stars was criticized massively because of Nintendo's strange decision to make it a limited edition that would no longer be available after a few months. It made it quite difficult to get hold of, which looks like Super Mario Galaxy 1+2's fate as well.
Nintendo has not announced that, but Super Mario Galaxy 1+2's physical edition will apparently be difficult to get
What is the matter with Mario Galaxy and limited publishing?!
One of the biggest announcements in this week's Big Nintendo Direct was that both Super Mario Galaxy Games will be remastered for Nintendo Switch, which marks the first time Galaxy 2 has left Wii. However, this announcement came with a disadvantage, as it was later confirmed that the package would cost $ 70.
However, it is not the end of misery. As pointed out by resetting User Idontbeatgames, several retailers have suggested that Super Mario Galaxy 1+2's physical edition will be limited at launch. Wario66 pointed out that Gamestop and another dealer have confirmed that they only receive “limited allocations” of the physical package at launch.
It is possible that more copies of Super Mario Galaxy 1+2 will be produced at a later date, as most of the warnings suggest that it will be difficult to find “at launch”.
The Twitter user Ninendendeal also said that they have heard that the package may “be difficult to get” at the launch, as there will apparently be limited stock. It is not really clear what is happening here because Nintendo has not confirmed that it is a limited edition at all, so it sounds like the physical edition will only have a small number of copies distributed at launch.
