Steel Ball Run will move to weekly episodes in fall 2026

Netflix has just provided an update for the next installment of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run. After a well-received first episode, Netflix left JoJo fans in the dark about Steel Ball Run's second episode or second leg. We now know that the streaming platform plans to release the next episode in the fall of 2026, with the following episodes being released every week.

After a great first episode, fans were met with radio silence as no new episode aired the following week. There was no update from Netflix either, resulting in angry fans spamming the streamer's social media posts with creepy Johnny Joestar memes. We finally have some clarity on the series' release schedule.

In a recent tweet, Netflix revealed that the series will be moving to the regular weekly episode format, rather than longer episodes with more time between them. It's clear that fans weren't happy with the previous formula, and it's good to see that Netflix will switch to the regular format after the backlash.

“Thanks for all the incredible support for STEEL BALL RUN JoJo's Bizarre Adventure,” the tweet said. “The series is currently in production and will be available for everyone to enjoy. We are planning a split-course release across the full set of episodes. The next course (2nd STAGE) will begin streaming in Fall 2026 on Netflix, with a new episode released each week.

“This release schedule is part of our original plan and reflects the wishes of the production committee. Your passion and enthusiasm means a lot to everyone involved in the preparations. We appreciate your patience and continued support as we work to bring you STEP 2.”

It is still unclear if this will be the plan for the rest of the series or just the second leg. Fans weren't receptive to this update either, as the comments were filled with more Johnny Joestar memes and questions about the rest of the series. It seems even Netflix isn't sure about the release schedule after that.
