Steam is finally getting one of the most underrated Action RPGS of the last year

Steam users will soon have a new dark fantasy action RPG to sink their time into, which Blades of Fire has been confirmed to be coming to Valve's PC gaming showcase this spring. As one of the most underrated games of 2025, Blades of Fire will launch on Steam after a year of exclusivity on other platforms, including the Epic Games Store.

Blades of Fire is an action title set in a world where metal weapons have been cursed to stone. The game's main character is a warrior named Aran de Lira, who forges his own steel weapons using a sacred forge hammer. Aran is accompanied by a young scientist named Adso de Zelk, who shares his knowledge of the world and documents Aran's journey. Blades of Fire is published by 505 Games and developed by MercurySteam. Some of MercurySteam's past work includes Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Space Lordsand Metroid Dread. Considered one of the best Metroidvanias of the decade so far, Metroid Dread was jointly developed by MercurySteam and Nintendo.

After Blades of Fire released to positive reviews, more players will soon be able to give one of 2025's best action titles a try. Blades of Fire launches on Steam on Thursday, May 14almost a year after its launch on the Epic Games Store, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Along with the Steam port, Blades of Fire will also launch a version 2.0 update on all supported platforms. Blades of Fire Version 2.0 will include several new features for players to experience. A New Game Plus mode and a new Titanium Challenge Level will be available for players to test their skills. In addition, Blades of Fire Version 2.0 will feature a photo mode and a Boss Revival mode where Aran can match some of the game's toughest enemies for additional rewards. Some of these rewards include giving Adso the ability to enchant Aran's weapon for extra strength and effects.
