Many expected the announcement to take place at the anniversary event, although it obviously does not happen.
With rumors swirling around a remaster of the Greek-era titles on modern hardware, the Santa Monica studio, the team behind God of War, has come out to crush any rumors of a planned announcement at this month's 20th anniversary.
In a post shared on social media, Santa Monica has clearly stated the following:
With such a star set and all the expectations we have seen around the anniversary, we want to be clear that there are no planned announcements for this event.
In other words, if you planned to buy a ticket for the event in the hope of seeing a trailer, does not. Of course, this does not mean that the ongoing rumors have no validity, but rather the event is intended as a celebration above all.

How we got here
At the end of last month, reliable industry -insider Jeff Grubb shared that a remaster of the Greek titles will be eyeballs for Mars. The franchise as a whole will celebrate 20 years on March 22, the date when Sony first released Good of War on PS2.
These rumors back up claims from October 2024 that not only the original trilogy be transferred to modern hardware, but also the PSP era (Ghost of Sparta and chains of Olympus) titles, as well as prequel, ascent.
To honor the Franchise anniversary, a gallery event is held at Nucleus, complete with art exhibitions, as well as an anniversary panel that will also contain a signing from Dev's and role. It made it a clear target for speculation for a potential announcement, although it has now been made very clear that it will not happen.
