Skill Caps, LEM Augments & True Max Level

StarRupture has a leveling system (sort of), and players who want to unlock more LEM power-ups will need to increase their skills in combat, survival and movement. But all that leveling has to end somewhere, and the level cap can be hard to identify because the game doesn't alert you to one important detail.

So to clear things up, this guide will explain how smoothing works in StarRupture, how many skills are available, what unlocks are available with the current version of the game, and, more importantly, what true level Cap in StarRupture is.

How leveling works in StarRupture

How does leveling work in Star Rupture All Skills Combat Movement Survival

Leveling in StarRupture happens the same way for every character in the game, meaning there is no real difference (in the current version of the game) if players choose the soldier or the biologist. What really matters is that players will increase their skill level in combat, survival and movement, gain experience in these three areas and unlock LEM Augment Slots once every two levels.

Combat experience is gained by eliminating pests and surviving large-scale raids on the base.
Survival experience is gained by collecting plants, mining meteorites or Ignitium and surviving Rupture Waves.
Movement experience is gained by moving, exploring, running, climbing, sliding and jumping.

When players reach the first milestone at level 10, they will be able to equip a LEM Augment by visiting a LEM Station (unlocked by reaching faction level 4 with Future Health Solutions).

LEM Augment Slots are unlocked at levels: 10, 25 (20 in the case of battle), 40 (35 in battle), 65, 85and 100. Each skill can be leveled up to a maximum of 100, but there's a catch: There's an actual level cap hidden and the only way to find out is to unlock one of the crafting stations in the game.

What is the True Level Cap in StarRupture? (Early Access)

As mentioned earlier, from the 100 levels each skill has, only 45 levels are available in the current version of the game. That means it the true level cap for each skill is 45do it impossible to unlock all LEM Augment slots in the game.

At the moment of writing this guide, only 3 LEM Augment Slots are available per Skill, from the maximum 6 per Skill that should be available when the developers fully release the game.

This is indicated by a small message that only appears when players use the LEM Station, so it's a bit hard to notice. Some players may have gone past level 45 in terms of experience, but notice that they can't level up, so here's the deal: Currently, there's no way to level up beyond that level.

If players want to fully unlock the potential of their characters, they'll have to wait until future in-game patches unlock more content, and, as mentioned earlier, StarRupture is still in Early Access, so understandably some features of the game are still locked. Still, with so much content available and a huge map to explore (in addition to tons of structures to build), players can sit tight and enjoy the ride before the final version of the game is released.
