Console gamers finally get the chance to play skate.the highly anticipated new entry in the popular Skate franchise, thanks to a new round of playtesting. While such tests have been going on in skate. since mid-2022, they've been limited to just its PC version, with Xbox and PlayStation players now able to get a taste of the first Skate game since about 15 years.
The last game to drop for Skate franchise was Skate 3 2010. Despite having a loyal fan base, the franchise was seemingly shelved indefinitely by EA in favor of more FPS, Battle Royale, and live service titles. Support for a new one Skate however, the title remained throughout the years, with #Skate4 becoming a hashtag that even EA could not continue to ignore, culminating in the announcement of a dedicated development studio to make a new game in the series. Last fall it was announced skate. would enter early access in 2025, with console testing definitely a positive development towards that window.
