Hollow Knight: Silksong's Styx offers a valuable resource

Hollow Knight: Silksong Is home to a consumable article called a “silkater”. These little grubs allow players to blow up their silk cooke anywhere, which means players do not have to visit the place for their last death to pick up their dropped rosary beads. These silkators are dotted around the kingdom of Pharloom, but they are a rather rare sight. It is until players meet Styx.

After reaching Hollow Knight: SilksongGreymoor, players can climb up to Sinner's Road, a dark, snuffy and maggot-infected cave. If players manage to avoid the many obstacles along the way, they will eventually meet Styx, a large spindle -like creature that hangs from an intricate web structure made of legs.

Styx greets the horn tentatively and asks her to return later, when they will have a gift prepared for Silk song main character. If players do just that, they will see that Styx has produced a handful of silkaters that they can take with them on their journey. What makes Styx such an important NPC is that they continue to produce silkathers throughout the game, with players who can return at regular intervals to replenish their range.

Not everyone will need what Styx offers

Silk atmers are objectively a very useful object. Hollow Knight: Silksong Is home to some rather unforgivable boss returns, and there are countless environmental hazards that sprinkle with Pharloom that mainly make cocoon pick-up impossible. If players are caught in a difficult place and do not want to risk losing all rosary beads they have worked so hard to get – especially considering the game's controversial economy – it can be a great relief to have a silkater in their warehouse.

That said, when players reach Styx on Sinner's Road, they may not need a steady selection of silkaters. At this stage, players are probably close to the end of Hollow Knight: Silksong Team 1, and they have probably experienced their fair proportion of tricky Boss returns already. It is very likely that some players will not have used a single silkater when they hit Styx and have instead learned to adapt to Silk songSometimes unforgiving nature.

Those who are sufficiently skilled for BRISE through Boss returns will probably not use for Styx's regular selection of silkaters. It can also be true for the players who take a more cautious attitude to the game's finances and change their loose rosary beads for rose strings and necklaces to ensure that nothing important is lost at death.
