For Hollow Knight -fans, the wait for silksong is unbearable. It has been more than six and a half years since the Hornet-focused sequel was announced, but many delays, showing no shows and periods with radio silence have left the game's audience Raven, about to lose their collective senses.
Although it is clear that Hollow Knight: Silksong is one of the most awaited titles in play, new data has shown how desperately the audience is, with the one who sits comfortably as Steam's most desired.
Hollow Knight: Silksong has a sincerely astonishing amount of wish lists on Steam
In new research published by Alinea Insight Newsletter, Hollow Knight: Silksong has been revealed to have 4.8 million wish lists on Steam. Given that the first game has sold about nine million units on the platform, 4.8 million is an astonishing number.
However, the figure is made even more impressive compared to Steam's other most-wishlisted titles. Battlefield 6, which is located in second place, currently has 2.8 million wish lists (although it is likely to rise with the other beta that is currently in progress), Arc Raiders, in third, 2.5 million and dying lights: The Beast and Borderland 4 have 2.3 million and 1.8 million respectively. This means that Silksong has almost twice as many wish lists as the other placed game, and as many as the third and fourth most-wishlisted games combined, a fantastic view for the Australian developed India.
Of course, there is an important thing to think about here: Hollow Knight: Silksong has been available for wish list on Steam far longer than these other titles, so of course it will get more. However, it does not reduce Silksong's performance. 4.8 million wish lists are something that many games could only dream of, but that's something to think about.
Thankfully, the annoying wait for news will probably be over very soon. Silksong is confirmed to be playable on the Gamescom show floor and raises expectations of an appearance during the live exhibition for the opening. With the emissions confirmed to be ahead of Xbox Rog Ally, which is likely to be launched in October, a announcement for a silksong date must be just around the corner.
