At this point, with so many showcase snubs, Skongers usually take things in their step. However, this latest Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase felt different, with feeling in the usually optimistic society that became acidic.
Sentiment against Team Cherry and Hollow Knight: Silksong seems to turn
During the hours following Silksong's absence from the latest Nintendo Direct, a number of posts appeared on the game's subreddit, with players who accused Team Cherry of not respecting society.
A thread, from the user Wildestrika101, which quickly received 1,900 Upvotes and more than 200 comments, before they were locked, said: “No communication. No date confirmation. Exclusive demonstrations for people who don't even care about the game. It is disrespect, and Team Cherry makes us guilty after all this time.”
Wildstrika's feelings were shared by many. Heavy-hit said: “It's honestly so funny that they still have a fanbase at this time,” while Nikage0 has been added, “I don't see how this is justified if they don't have a very good reason, which is unlikely. I wonder if they will deal with it or just say sad and move on.” A third comment said: “This is almost more exciting than the game LMAO itself. I really wonder how they want to get out of this without their reputation taking a hit.”
In subreddit, several other angry threads, many annoyed on Team Cherry, show up with some who go as far as taking their anger at Matthew Griffin, known as Leth, who works in marketing and publishing for Team Cherry.
Although much of the feeling of silksong subreddit is currently overwhelmingly negative, there are more than a handful of optimists who are willing to let the Cherry team do what it needs to do. With the Gamescom opening evening lives just around the corner, and a guaranteed look on the show floor from Silksong, you must imagine that something officially is close.
