Now a new collaboration has been announced between Koei Tecmo's Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly remake and Konami's Silent Hill bthe most recent entry in Silent Hill series. The announcement came from Koei Tecmo, who revealed that co-op costumes would be coming as downloadable content in the future. Fatal Frame 2 and Silent Hill f's thematic similarities

Aside from being two of the leading Japanese survival horror series to come out of the early 2000s, these two games have some similarities in theme, which makes this crossover all the better. While the original Silent Hill games followed a series of western protagonists, Silent Hill b takes players back to the 1960s of Japan, while Fatal Frame 2 takes place in the 1980s. Both games see young female leads struggle to make it through terrifying encounters inspired by Japanese folklore, with few tools to defend themselves with. As the games' stories continue, it becomes clear that all is not as it first seems, and the main characters are forced to make some difficult choices.

No release date has yet been announced for when Silent Hill b x Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly DLC will arrive. Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly is currently set to release on March 12, 2026. It is also not clear if the DLC will be available on all systems, as Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly releasing on Nintendo Switch 2, but Silent Hill b is not available on that platform. However, it may change in the future. The Silent Hill 2 remake didn't come to Xbox Series consoles for a year after the initial PlayStation launch, and while the developers haven't explicitly revealed a Nintendo Switch 2 version, it's not out of the question. If any of Silent Hill franchise is coming to Switch 2, it may be announced during the upcoming Nintendo Direct, set for February.
