Days Gone Remastered: 7 Biggest Differences from the original
What has changed for days with remaster, and is it worth your time?
Diakon Saint John has once driven back on our screens for another excursion on familiar land, although this time there are some new toys in the familiar saddle bag. It is a lot to unpack for those who can consider taking remaster for a spin. So to put everything out straight, here is if Days Gone Remastered is worth it.
What is new?
Before you dive into Nitty Gritty, it is worth briefly covering what Remaster takes to the table. On top of graphic improvements, there are also lots of accessibility features that enable adjustment of every small detail in Gameworld to make it easier to analyze.
There is also a photo mode and the largest sales site, new game modes. These are Horde Assault, which is basically a new survival mode with massive roaming hordes. Permadeath for those who like a challenge and speedrun. It is a small selection, but the game could have done a long time ago and is welcome now.
Days Gone Remastered Review
All in all, the reception of the remaster has been positive. From compliments surrounding the new positions, to the graphic overall, there have been many nice things to say. The points from the usual suspects also reflect this as over on IGN, we have nine point six, further high praise from Eurogamer and a reception of generally favorable on metacritic with the critic who sits on a high 78.
The community was also equally favorable on Metacritic, with an average of eight points eight from a pool with 467 users. So it trends good. At The Gamer, Resident Features Editor Jade King has a run on it with a full review of Remaster and she thought its new content was just as exciting, if it is still a bit unfortunate at the worst times.
The overall impression was that the visual upgrades and total quality of game improvements still do not hide the shortcomings in the original game. Such as the bad story, the stimulation and the stilt dialogue.
If you are already a Ride-or-Die Days Gone fan, this remaster is just $ 10 and an amazing excuse to dive back to one of your favorite games.
But praise was given the game when it went from the site and allowed the survival mechanics for bicycle maintenance and zombie hordes to take over. When Jade also pointed out, she liked the game when it worked more like a zombie cyclist adventure rather than a serious narrative adventure. Although she mentioned that Gunplay and Melee Combat still feel missed in Remaster, also a question that tormented the original.
How long does it take to beat Days Gone Remastered?
So the fun with Days Gone Remastered is that if we count the new content as separately, remaster still takes the same length to beat as the original. So your average driving for this cyclist-based zombie game for an experienced player who goes through the game would be about 40 to 50 hours. It goes from main history to main history that constantly, no stops in between.

Days Gone Remastered: Complete Horde Assault Guide
Here is everything you need to know to handle the Horde attack, from unlocking characters and maps to tips for survival.
For those who do not sprint around and prefer to take in some atmosphere and side issues, you will look at an average completion time of about 60 hours. Finally, for the crazy supplements you can slap another 10 on top to round these collectors to hit a peak time of about 70 hours. So you get a lot of games for your money.
Horde Assault lasts as long as your character does, it is an open survival mode.
What is the cost?
Speaking of cash, things become a little fun when it comes to how Remaster is handled. This is because there are technically two price guides for it, although this depends on whether you owned the original game first before Remaster launched or not.
For those who owned the original, you just have to release $ 10 to get the new toys and the shiny skin. But if you are brand new in the game and buy it for the first time you are expected to pay the following amount:
|
Area |
Price |
|---|---|
|
UK |
£ 44.99 |
|
Us |
$ 49.99 |
|
EU |
52.83 € |
|
Aus |
A $ 92.35 |
If you did not pick up the original, it is a high price to pay for the remashed version on PS5. But if you are a PC owner, you can still enjoy the graphic updates for free, even if you have to pay for the broken roads DLC if you want to access the new game content that Horde Assault.
What players say
Now that we have thoroughly covered all our bases, it is worthwhile to take in the views that really matter, those who have had a practical time with Days Gone Remaster.
Here is what our team on the player had to say.

Son's of Anarchy meets Walking Dead may be the most trite way to set days away but that does not stop the description of being appropriate. Like both these server days are full of good ideas and concepts but can't really deduct the execution as good as you hope. When hordes of fast zombies stop you when you ask your ammunition number to last for a few more for a few more, the game is electric, fast and hectic when your options disappear and it's just you alone with the hordes.
Then the rest of the game happens.
The story shakes you from camp to camp to perform assignments for different NPCs, while the protagonist Deacon St John muttered under his breath on the road that convinces you that he would be unpleasant to join. But you just itch for another big meeting and the sweet panicked adrenaline rush that comes with being surpassed 200 to 1.
Drew Ferguson – Guides / List Writer
I really didn't think I would enjoy days that went back when it came out, which is a strange way to start talking about how much I really love days away. It gives many things that should be tired: cyclists, zombies, crafts and survival and manage to unite all these in ways that constantly engage.
Characters that may seem flat at first often hide behind bluster to protect their pain. Mechanics that may seem well worn are integrated in a whole and are given new life. There is a creeping tension here, an open world that is one of the most engaging I have ever seen, and a mixture of survival and story that both raise the other. Remaster has all this with a couple of new positions and improvements that are thrown in, but the campaign is the star of the show.
