The Dispatch The development team has issued a special message of thanks to its devoted fanbase after its first week since launch without a new episode for players to dive into. Dispatch has become immensely popular since its first two episodes were released on October 22, and fans are eager for the official confirmation of a second season.

The episodic superhero workplace comedy starring Aaron Paul and Laura Bailey is the first venture from AdHoc Studios, which was founded in 2018 by former members of the development team at Telltale Games along with some Ubisoft and Night School Studio alums. With two new ones Dispatch episodes released weekly after launch, the end of season 1 content concluded on November 12 with the release of episodes 7 and 8, much to the dismay of fans eager for more content. In a new message to these fans, AdHoc Studios shares the players' grief. However, the development team is enjoying success, announcing that the game has amassed an impressive total of more than 2 million players spread across PlayStation 5 and Steam.

Fans have responded to the message with their own gratitude, sharing their love for the episodic adventure and congratulating the team on their success so far. The support from the fan base is not surprising, given that Dispatch enjoys “Overwhelmingly Positive” user reviews on Steam, with a 97 percent approval rating among nearly 54,000 reviews. It also performs very well on OpenCritic, with a critic recommendation rating of 94 percent and a perfect player rating of 100. Dispatch has also made The Game Awards 2025's shortlist under the Best Debut Indie Game category, although it has faced stiff competition from Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Blue Princeand Desperate.

During the eight episodes, there are different player choices that can ultimately affect the endings for several Dispatch sign. Some of these choices involve romance, as Robert could end up with Blonde Blazer, Invisigal, neither, or in a tricky love triangle. The subject of Invisigal's status at the end of the story is also a variable one, as she has the potential to become either a hero or a villain.

Dispatch episode 7 Robert Invisigal kiss

The most dramatic choices, however, are likely those in Episode 8 revolving around the Shroud, as players have the choice of giving him the Astral Pulse or the Prototype, although giving him both makes for perhaps the most satisfying ending of all. As long as players have built a good relationship with the Invisigal, they will have the option to spare the Shroud or suffocate him to death, finally getting revenge for the murder of Robert's father. However, if you choose the former option, Robert will still beat the Shroud to a pulp before being taken out by the Superhero Defense Network, which could potentially be the cliffhanger, as leaving him alive could possibly allow for a daring escape, a scenario where he controls the chaos from the shadows, or even a redemption arc. Conversely, if Robert doesn't kill him, Invisigal just might, and she could prove to be an even more formidable foe for Season 2.

Casing in dispatch

While the content at the end of Season 1 is still fresh in the minds of players, many are already wondering about the possibilities of a second season. The development team has yet to officially confirm whether Dispatch will continue after episode 8, although AdHoc's creative director Pierre Shorette said earlier in November that the team would have to think about its options after the success of the first season. Also, Aaron Paul hopes season 2 off Dispatch will, as he recently appeared on co-player MoistCr1TiKaL's YouTube channel and told him, “I hope you and I get to do multiple seasons of this game.”
