SecretLab's Pokémon collection is the very best, like no gaming chair has ever been

  • One more love letter Pokémon Generation that started it all, Secretlab Pokémon The collection is nothing short of extraordinary, sporty that high quality craft gamers have come to associate Secretlab's TITAN Evo series gaming chairs with. In the spirit of Pokémon Secretlab's Pokémon Collection includes three starters to choose from: Pikachu, Gengar and Eevee.

Like any sane 90s kid, I was quick to choose the series' most iconic Ghost-Type, Gengar. Coming in a beautiful black and purple color scheme that perfectly reflects Gengar's Ghost/Poison dual typing, Secretlab's TITAN Evo Gengar gaming chair is the best chair I've ever owned in my 30+ years of professional seating. As comfortable as he is handsome, Gengar's hideous visage has haunted my office in the best possible way.

The Secretlab Pokémon Collection is available for pre-order in the US, Canada, Europe, Australia and the UK, with prices in the TITAN Evo standard range of $684 / $549 / $644.

The Secretlab TITAN Evo Pokemon Pikachu, Gengar, & Eevee Editions are the ideal gaming chairs for Pokemon fans looking to expand their setup.

Each chair is packed with detailed Easter eggs, but only true Pokémon masters will catch them all

The design of each chair in the Secretlab Pokémon Collection is absolutely packed with little eagle-eyed Easter eggs Pokémon will immediately catch. Design-wise, the Gengar chair looks fantastic. The bold black and purple color really brings the Ghost/Poison-Type line to life, with a bright purple at the base of the seat bubbling up just like the Toxic movement, before fading into the black base of the chair with illustrations in purple.

The illustrations are top-notch, structured to give them depth without being too intrusive to make sitting in the TITAN Evo uncomfortable. Contouring the sides of the chair, you'll find symbols representing the Ghost and Poison typings of the Gengar family's line of development, as well as images of Gastly, Haunter and Gengar ghosting up to the top of the headrest. Centered on the front is a stunning image of Gengar with his Pokédex number underneath, with a larger illustration on the back of Gengar mischievously sticking out his tongue in a perfect blend of Ken Sugimori's original design and Pokémon modern art style.

Secretlab makes building your chair simple and easy

For anyone worried about fitting a TITAN Evo on their own, rest assured that the process is extremely simple. Perhaps fitting for someone who writes for a living, I'm not what you'd call a handy man, but I was able to easily assemble my Gengar TITAN Evo in half an hour with no frustrations or roadblocks whatsoever.

The TITAN Evo comes with an assembly tool kit, meaning you don't have to hunt for your own tools, and a very handy (and very large) instruction sheet that breaks down the assembly process step by step in detail. Having a buddy help you and lift some of the heavier parts for screwing certainly helps, but it's by no means difficult or impossible to get through the build process on your own.

Quality meets comfort in the Secretlab Pokémon Collection

TITAN Evo Gengar Secretlab Pokémon Collection gaming chair

After suffering through a backless office chair that I was constantly sinking into and sliding on due to poorly constructed wheels for years, the Secretlab Pokémon Collection is honestly a revelation and the biggest upgrade my office has received in over a decade. Secretlab's 4-Way L-ADAPT™ Lumbar Support System and Memory Foam Head Pillow have done wonders for my back, neck and posture. As someone who needs to sit for hours because of work, it's nice to sit in a chair that actually makes my body feel supported, as opposed to destroyed, at the end of the day.

At the end of a long work day, it's also just nice to sit back on Gengar and play some video games or watch anime. I've gotten to the point where I'd rather rest on my TITAN Evo most nights than move to the couch, something I never would have done before Secretlab's Pokémon Collection. Best of all, the chair just looks good. The black and purple blend perfectly with my setup's color palette, and Secretlab's immaculate detailing and texture work just screams “prestige” – so much so that I feel like I now need a higher quality desk just to match the Gengar (preferably in black and purple).

If you are thinking of upgrading your gaming chair and love Pokémonyou can't go wrong with the Secretlab Pokémon Collection. All three chairs are of exceptional high quality and crafted with a deep love not only for Generation I and the Kanto region that started it all, but Pokémon series as a whole. Pre-orders are going fast though, so whip out that Poké Ball and grab your starter while you can – you won't regret it.
