Say goodbye to Pokemon Gen 10, Legends Galar leaks in 2026

Pokemon Legends: ZA came out in October, and it got its Mega Dimension DLC just over two weeks ago. While the game still has a lot to offer with upcoming events and rewards, most fans are looking forward to the next big chapter in the series: Pokémon Gen 10. It's been a long time coming for Gen 10 games, as Game Freak broke from their usual 3-year development cycle, meaning it leaked Pokemon wind and wave will probably come out between October and November 2026. There have been leaks regarding Gen 10 and future projects so far, but there is one important reason why you shouldn't expect anything too big in 2026.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet was arguably a make-or-break moment for the series, with many fans unhappy with the performance of Gen 9 games, even though the titles were ambitious, huge in scope, and generated a lot of hype. Still, most of Gen 9's features and the entire Pokedex were leaked before launch, which was possible due to the Nintendo Switch system being heavily used for data mining. Nintendo Switch 2 is not the same for various reasons, which means that Pokémon Gen 10 leaks will mostly only happen through the remaining Teraleak data in 2026, if at all.

Why Nintendo Switch 2 Won't Allow Pokemon Leaks 2026

  • Pokemon Pokopia and Pokémon Gen 10 will be exclusive to Switch 2.

    • Pokopia is confirmed as a Switch 2 exclusive, and Gen 10 is rumored as such.
  • It leaked Pokemon Legends The Galar game will probably be exclusive to the Switch 2 and launch between 2027 and 2028.

  • The Nintendo Switch 2 has encryption keys that no one has been able to crack.

    • According to experts and insiders, this will take years, if at all possible.

    • Known Pokémon leak aggregator Centro Leaks deemed the Switch 2 “unhackable” and claimed that no game afterwards Pokemon Legends: ZA will have data, stats, Pokedex entries and such leaked before launch.

    • Notorious Pokémon dataminer Anubis (@Sibuna_Switch) believes that datamining the Switch 2 is something that won't happen for years.

Rumor: Pokemon Gen 10 Combat System Leaked

A new Pokémon Generation 10 leak claims to reveal how the upcoming games' combat will work compared to other recent entries.

It's time to accept Pokemon Gen 10 starters and full Pokedex will never leak

Pokemon Legends: ZA is the end of an era for Pokemon Leaks

Pokemon Legends: ZA may not get further expansions, but it was one of the most leaked games of the series alongside Gen 9. For example:

Now, with the exception of outstanding leaks from Teraleak that have not been reported yet, there will be no new leaks for Pokémon Gen 10 in 2026. Even then, the leaks won't be as massive as they have been so far, as Teraleak comes from early concepts for the new games rather than actual data. This means that fans won't be able to know in advance which Pokémon will be in the games, what they will look like, how the starters' evolution will look like, and so on.

Pokemon Legends Galar Leaks May Get the Short End of the Stick

In the big Teraleak 2.0 last October, Pokemon Legends Galar was first mentioned in official Game Freak documents, stating that it would take place in ancient Galar before the first Poke Ball was even made. In the files were Pokemon Legends Galar leaked features and early concept images, possibly indicating that the game is now in the early stages of development Pokemon Legends: ZA is out and will eventually come out sometime between 2027 and 2028.

Nintendo Switch 2 could be the final nail in the coffin for Pokemon Leaks

This makes sense, but it also means the game is at a huge disadvantage compared to Gen 10, as its existence won't be confirmed until it shows up or several reputable insiders say something. As such, since no data mining is currently possible for the Switch 2, Pokemon Legends Galar will remain a big question mark for a long time, and it may even have been scrapped entirely without warning. Not only that, but every leak about Pokémon Gen 10 so far may no longer be true, as the early plans from Teraleak are from years ago, and nothing is set in stone. This really seems the end of reliable Pokémon leaking for quite some time, and it's time to accept it.
