Sanji vs Killingham starts in Elbaf

This article contains spoilers from One Piece chapter 1176, available to read on Manga Plus.

One Piece continued his phenomenal run in the Elbaf arc with Chapter 1176 this week, and it goes without saying that it was one of the most exciting chapters fans have had of Oda in the Elbaf arc so far. After the incredible reveal of Loki's powers in the previous chapter and the lore linking the sun god Nika and the god of war: Elbaf, most fans expected One Piece Chapter 1176 to dive deep into the story or to shed some light on Imu's connection to Nidhogg. Surprising, One Piece 1176 did none of those things, but ended up upping the intensity in completely different ways, which fans couldn't help but absolutely love. One Piece Chapter 1176 gave the Straw Hats, especially Sanji, the much-deserved highlight, and it goes without saying that this chapter leveled the playing field between the World Government warriors trying to destroy Elbaf forever, and the alliance between the Giants and the Straw Hat Pirates. Most importantly, this chapter finally sets up Sanji's upcoming big battle against Saint Killingham of the Holy Knights.

One Piece Chapter 1176 pretty much focused on the Straw Hat Pirates. Ever since the Wano Arc began, the Straw Hats have been largely out of contention, and this has been one of the biggest complaints fans have had from this arc. While the Monster Trio usually gets all the attention, the rest of the Straw Hat Pirates hardly get anything of note to do. This chapter saw most of the Straw Hats do their thing and it was really incredibly exciting for the fans to watch.

After a very long time, Franky returned to the bay, and Oda also made sure to give him a major power-up through Super Vega Cola, thanks to Vegapunk's efforts. More than that, all the other Straw Hats helped put out the fire and fight MMA. The collaboration between different Straw Hats was incredibly exciting for fans to see, and more than that, it finally gave them something to do in this arc. After being humiliated by Gunko before, this raised their status in the eyes of the fans, but it really isn't enough. Fans want to see the Straw Hat Pirates do more, and hopefully Oda will continue this trend as the story progresses in Elbaf.

Most importantly, One Piece Chapter 1176 set up the first major battle in Elbaf, and it's between Sanji, one of the Pirate King's wings, and Saint Killingham, a member of the Holy Knights. Seeing a racist comment against Jinbe, Sanji couldn't help but attack the holy knight with a powerful Concasser. This attack was incredibly powerful and dealt a lot of damage to Killingham, but it must be remembered that he is immortal and easily regenerates from any damage. In that sense, this attack only served as the beginning of the fight and not the end of it. Sanji vs Killingham is now officially set up, and the upcoming chapters are sure to put a lot of focus on it.

Dorry and Brogy are officially back in One Piece's newest Elbaf chapter

Dorry Brogy Back domi reversi undone One Piece chapter 1176

Quite simply, the most important part of One Piece Chapter 1176 was Oda revealing to fans how Domi Reversi can be undone. For a very long time, the Domi Reversi seemed like the ultimate power move from Imu that clearly had no counters. 38 years ago, when Garp and Roger battled Rocks at God Valley, they managed to break the spell on him by unleashing an incredibly powerful mass of Haki. Unfortunately, right after the spell was broken, Rocks Garling encountered Figarland's sword, which ended up killing him.

  • This time, Oda officially confirmed how to break the spell of Domi Reversi. Basically, if a Domi Reversi fighter is killed, then the spell on them is completely broken, and they reverse themselves and return to their normal state, undoing any damage previously dealt to them. As such, while Imu's powers are great, they can be countered if the user is essentially killed in battle.

One Piece Yonko level female characters

3 Yonko level female characters in one piece

One Piece has many powerful female characters, but only a handful of them are Yonko level.

This makes things very easy, as all the Straw Hats and Giants have to do, as far as the Domi Reversi army is concerned, is kill them, and they would all return to their normal states afterwards. With Dorry and Brogy now back, the fight becomes much easier as Elbaf's combat powers are incredibly powerful at the moment. Now a group effort by Dorry, Brogy, Zoro and Hajrudin will target all the Domi Reversi giants, and it goes without saying that the next chapter will likely focus heavily on this. When that happens, Zoro may even have his own fight against Saint Sommers, because at this point it's only a matter of time before his enemy shows up as well, just like Sanjis did.

The great battles of Elbaf are about to begin in the coming weeks

Absolutely, One Piece chapter 1176 was the beginning of the climax of the Elbaf arc, with Sanji getting his fight against Saint Killingham. It's time for Zoro to get his fight too, and for the other Straw Hats to face their own matchups. Likewise, Zoro's fight will be set up soon enough, and finally the fight will take the fans to the main event, which is Luffy and Loki vs Imu. No doubt Luffy and Loki's clash against Imu will be handled at the end, in typical Oda fashion. Before that happens, all the other fights have to be dealt with, and that's where One Piece takes fans next.

It's sure to be an incredibly exciting ride ahead, but unfortunately the manga will be on hiatus next week, meaning fans will have to wait two weeks to enjoy the next chapter of One Piece.

Once the story returns, it goes without saying that a lot of light will be shed on the likes of Zoro and Sanji, who will most likely continue to fight their great battles in Wano and take their overall powers to the next level. More than that, Oda can also reveal bits of lore linking Nidhogg to Imu. At the end of the day, all eyes are on Luffy's fight against Imu, but Oda could also flip the script and start a fight between Luffy and Loki if Imu were to Domi Reversi the latter. Should that happen, Wano will be even more exciting than ever before, and fans absolutely cannot wait for it.
