Reze Arc makes history by breaking big record

According to Oricon's Weekly Streaming Ranking and Weekly Digital Single (Single Song) Ranking, IRIS OUT is now the fastest growing single in history for a solo artist.

This is another great musical record for both Chainsaw man franchise and Kenshi Yonezu personally. Yonezu's single and opening theme song for Chainsaw man Season 1's Kick Back was the first song with Japanese lyrics to be certified platinum by the RIAA. It's not out of the question for IRIS OUT to sell 1,000,000 copies in the US and be certified platinum either. Kick Back's lifetime peak on the Billboard Global 200 was only 13, while IRIS OUT reached 5. Both songs also topped the Japan Hot 100 and Billboard Japan's Japan Hot Animation charts.

Chainsaw Man's IRIS OUT breaks the record for the most listens in the fastest time with 303 million plays

It cannot be emphasized enough how popular Kenshi Yonezu's music is. Released on September 29, 2025, IRIS OUT reached over 3 million listens in under four months, reaching this milestone in just 16 weeks of streaming. With regard to Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc was released in Japan on September 19, 2025 and didn't hit international theaters until October 4, 2025, this is particularly impressive. Even more so with the film's VOD release on select digital platforms on December 9, 2025.

Chainsaw Man: Where to Start Reading After the Reze Movie

When you're done watching Chainsaw Man The Movie: Reze Arc, this is where you should pick up the manga.

The Chainsaw man Film is still not available for streaming, but when the film finally comes to services like Crunchyroll for free, it's almost certain that IRIS OUT will get another push. Although Reze Arc's film adaptation did not work as lucratively as Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castlethe film's word of mouth has been strong enough where IRIS OUT could realistically stay at the top of the charts for months to come and break new music records.

More importantly, this was just Chainsaw man the first film of the franchise, and it did well enough to beat out all the modern ones Dragon Ball Film. That in itself is no small feat and speaks to the series' newfound popularity and sheer speed in building an audience – to say nothing of the Oscars hype Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc has received for its amazing animation, art direction and visual storytelling. An Oscar for best animated film is by no means out of the question.

Chainsaw Man: Assassins Arc is officially in production, which means new music from Kenshi Yonezu and another chance to break more records

After Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arcs success, MAPPA officially announced it Chainsaw man anime's return at Jump Festa last year. Chainsaw man Season 2 will cover the International Assassins Arc (and likely the rest of Part 1). Given that Kenshi Yonezu is currently two for two in writing and performing songs for Chainsaw manit stands to reason he'll be back with a third single too Chainsaw Man: Assassin's Arc. Knowing his track record, Yonezu will most likely be placed at #1 on Japan's Billboard and hit Billboard Global's Top 10, if not Top 5.

2026 is going to be a big year for Chainsaw Man fans

Next year is going to be amazing for Chainsaw Man fans.

Chainsaw Man: Assassin's Arc still doesn't have a set release date, but a 2027 window feels realistic, especially considering how much MAPPA is working with its animators. However, 2026 is off to a strong start for MAPPA productions, and it hasn't been that long The Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc was released, so fans shouldn't be surprised if the second season isn't released until 2028. That said, with Chainsaw man Part 2 manga now in its (probably) final battle, sooner would be better than later to synergize with the manga and help sell more volumes. Chainsaw man has never been more popular, so MAPPA would be foolish to sit on the anime for long and deprive fans of another Kenshi Yonezu bang.
