As if Leon Kennedy wasn't already overpowered enough, Resident Evil Requiem has him parry a missile out of the air like it means absolutely nothing.
Resident Evil may be considered the crème de la crème of horror to many, but the real ones know and love how goofy and action-packed the series can get. Between all the scary zombies and creepy locations, we have protagonists who regularly defy the laws of physics and pull off moves that would make James Bond blush.
The most infamous example of this throughout the series is Chris Redfield punching a boulder in Resident Evil 5, which is so well-known in part because that's when the series took a turn for the stupid. That's really just scratching the surface, as evidenced by Leon Kennedy's latest forte in Resident Evil Requiem.
Resident Evil Requiem lets you parry a missile, and I don't know why I'm surprised
Leon really is Him
Leon Kennedy may not have the muscle of Chris Redfield (although his Requiem design gives him a good run for his money), but he's always had his ridiculous moments. Dodging a boulder, backflipping and roundhouse kicking everything in sight, driving like crazy in any vehicle; Leon Kennedy has done it all.
As if all that wasn't enough, it turns out that Leon wasn't even at full power. As pointed out by Twitter user one_big_boss, Requiem gives Leon another top moment, as he's apparently skilled enough to parry a missile out of the air and act like it's the most normal thing in the world.
It's worth remembering that this is Leon at a pretty low point given everything that happened in Requiem, and he's still shrugging off the artillery.
In a clip shared on Twitter by drstrangesvape, Leon can be seen fighting Requiem's final boss and somehow using his ax to knock a rocket off course. How the battle ax doesn't make the rocket explode is beyond me, but it's about as good a proof as any that Leon Kennedy is the most skilled Resi protagonist. Hitting a boulder is cool and all, but that's about it nothing on this.
It's not just a missile that Leon can parry without a care, as Requiem also lets him counter giant mutated hands, cars thrown at him, mutated spider legs, and oh so much more. I guess using a whetstone on an ax is enough to allow you to defy the laws of physics and look like a legend doing it.
