Ubisoft seems to have suffered another hack of its popular multiplayer shooter Rainbow Six Siegewith players reporting being suspended for 67 days. This hack comes just a few days after Ubisoft's reset Rainbow Six Siege servers after taking them temporarily offline on December 27 following an earlier hacking attempt. Whether this is a brand new hack or if the servers are still vulnerable from this previous attempt is unclear.
Rainbow Six Siege has a huge online community and is one of Ubisoft's most popular games, with a strong player base that still sees over 50,000 concurrent players on Steam alone, even 10 years after its initial release. As such, it's not surprising that a game of this era is subject to hacking attempts over the course of its life. However, two back-to-back hacks have some players questioning the security of Ubisoft's servers.

Rainbow Six Siege is hacked again, with players reportedly banned for 67 days
According to X user vx-underground, the servers for Rainbow Six Siege has been compromised and players are reporting logging in to find their account has been suspended for 67 days. Players may see this screen saying they've been banned for a “harassment offense” even if they haven't violated any of Rainbow Six Siegecommunity guidelines. This reasoning, combined with the 67-day ban, is a sure sign that the servers have been hacked, as the number 67 has become widely associated with the popular “6 7” meme.
Also, server status for Rainbow Six Siegelisted on Ubisoft's website, shows that there are several unplanned issues on all platforms. This further suggests that a major hack has occurred, and is not limited to a particular platform. Connectivity is shown as degraded, while Authentication, In-Game Store and Matchmaking are all shown to be completely down. Some players are also reporting a “sync failed” error message when trying to log in.
Rainbow Six Siege has now been hacked over the course of a week
Previous, Rainbow Six Siege servers had to be taken offline by Ubisoft on December 27 following a hacking incident that affected the game's marketplace. During this incident, some players reportedly received massive amounts of store credits instantly, and developer-only skins appeared on servers. While the players affected by this hack may have seen the free credits as a pleasant surprise, Ubisoft quickly rolled back the transactions made with credits from this hack without banning any players who had tried to purchase items from the market using these ill-gotten credits.
Ubisoft reset the servers on December 28, resulting in reports of increased login times and login queues. But a week later, it seems the players should brace themselves for another temporary one Rainbow Six Siege server shutdown after this latest hack attempt took hold. Ubisoft has yet to address this issue, and it is unclear whether the banned players will have their accounts suspended before the 67-day period ends. But given the nature of the situation, Rainbow Six Siege players will likely regain access to their accounts without serving the ban.
This series of Rainbow Six Siege hacks comes at an unfortunate time for the game, as Ubisoft recently launched a Attack on Titan crossover with Rainbow Six Siege which allowed players to dress up Amaru as Mikasa Ackerman. Besides this Attack on Titan collaboration is Rainbow Six Sieges Operation Tenfold Pursuit, which offers rewards like Roister and Great Consequence for players who complete daily challenges. Players who have fallen victim to this 67 ban wave may miss out on opportunities to earn these rewards, giving Ubisoft even more reason to address the server hack quickly.
