Racy new ‘rosette bikini’ trend explodes at Miami Swim Week 2024

The swimsuit industry has taken a timeless wardrobe staple and given it a very raunchy makeover, resulting in a racy new bikini trend.

Rosettes, a flower-shaped decoration once associated with high society, have recently made a comeback.

The last time the bold accessory was popular was in the ’90s and early ’00s, making it another Y2K comeback trend that’s enjoyed a revival recently, along with dresses over jeans, flared leggings and the controversial visible thong.

But while many fashion brands are embracing the return of rosettes, adopting the rose-shaped design on tops, bottoms and even hair accessories, the swimwear industry has decided to take the trend to the next level.

Numerous shows at Miami Swim Week 2024 revealed that designers are using the trendy flower to make skimpy outfits – and the result is very bold.

Swimwear brand criticized for bikini stunt

During Ema Savahl’s show, many models walked the runway wearing a stunning two-piece, which had rosettes placed on the wearer’s torso and backside.

The beautiful swimmers were supported by a very thin piece of silver fabric, which was fashioned into a single loincloth at the back.

In addition to the pink color, the mini-swimmers are also available in blue, proving that the US designer is sure that this is the style of the season.

Milus Rose, a “luxury” swimwear brand, also presented “rosette bikinis” during its show.

A model was photographed strutting the catwalk wearing a pink micro bikini made up of string bottoms and miniature flowers covering her nipples.

While it looks super cute, its ability to withstand the demands of swimming is questionable.

Lucciana Beynon shows off a stunning figure at Miami Fashion Week

Another model showed off a similar design created by Diva Boutique at the week-long swimwear event, known for predicting and defining next year’s trends, meaning we’ll be seeing the crazy cossie on Australian beaches very soon.

Her cossie featured two daisy-like flowers instead of the traditional bra top which was worn with a pair of matching blush pink pants.

It appears to offer very little support, but it definitely highlights the wearer’s breasts, so whether or not it’s the perfect bikini for your next holiday really depends on the look you’re going for.

Diva Boutique also showed off an oversized rosette bikini in a flash blue shade.

The model wore the floral bra with a pair of matching blue “thong” briefs, an extreme micro trend that first emerged at the annual swimsuit event in 2022.

She also paired the micro-cossie with a large necklace that arguably provides more coverage to her chest than the bikini itself.

What do you think of the new “rosette bikini” trend? Would you wear it?
