Ghost of Tsushima Was one of the last major exclusivity launched on PS4 2020, just a few months before the PS5 was released. Although it was not the first Open-World Samurai game, it really did a lot of new things, and fans were ecstatic about it. In addition to a PS5 port, Sucker Punch silently worn off at the sequel, Ghost of Yotei, And five years later it is finally here.
Ghost of Yotei takes place hundreds of years after the original, so fans can give up the hope for a Jin Sakai como. Although not a big hope forward, there are some things this sequel do better than Ghost of TsushimaSo let's get into it.
Weapon variety
More ways to kill
IN Ghost of TsushimaJin was able to learn to use bows and master Katana, which is what players wanted to look most from an open world samurai game. In the sequel, ATSU can learn to exercise a wider selection of Melee-based weapons. An early example in Ghost of Yotei Includes the double catanas, which are good for spear.
There are several other new weapons introduced, and discovering each one is a funny little surprise that is not worth destroying. The effectiveness of one weapon against another is also an improvement compared to the original, as players must use more strategy in battle rather than just relying on counteracting or hacking and avoiding.
Weapon Fall
An improvisation samurai
In addition to the new weapons that ATSU can equip, enemies will also release their weapons in battle. Players can then pick up discarded weapons, such as Katanas or Spears, and throw them against enemies. The enemy bases will often have weapons on racks that players can also pick up, if they want to be more cinematic in their stealth kills without using a bow.
The ability to throw a weapon in Ghost of Yotei Is just cool, and it is something that many open world games are struggling with when it comes to battle. Why can't players pick up enemy weapons and use them? That question has been asked several times, and although it would be more engrossing to let players pick up all the weapons and use it temporarily in Ghost of YoteiAs in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the WildWeapons that throw mechanics are still appreciated.
Reflect on memories
To get deeper into the hero's past
Ghost of Tsushima Had some flashbacks with Jin to show their family ties that grew, but they were few and far in between. IN Ghost of YoteiThere are more flashbacks to reveal, and most are optional. If players want to immerse themselves in ATSU's past, they can.
This will mostly be done in ATSU's home, where players can hold down on the touchpad and run around as Attsu as a child and make small mini-quests. There are some examples in the rest of the world of Ghost of Yotei In addition, including tracking horses with their father.
A flexible main mission structure
Goes after Yotei Six
After a short set of tutorials, the world will open up fairly quickly. Players can roam around Ghost of YoteiLevel up different statistics such as health, tackle side assignments or go for main assignments. Players cannot directly kill all remaining members of Yotei Six, but at least they are given choices of who to handle first.
Giving players choices in the most important assignments is a major improvement over Ghost of TsushimaAlthough there were also branch opportunities in the first game. In an open world game, the more choices that players have to create their own history, the better.
More platform sections
An opportunity to drink in the environments
To reach upgrade sites on Ghost of YoteiAs an altar of reflection to learn skills, players often have to jump through some bows. This may include platform sections such as jumping between branches, climbing walls or swinging on Atsus's gripping hook.
The first game had platform sections like this too, but Ghost of Yotei have more of them. They can often be more fun and interactive than battle and give the game a nice rate of pace if players want a challenge and a break from the blood output.
Your wolf mate
Become a beast master
Players could follow foxes and birds in Ghost of Tsushima Finding cool places, but animals never came to Jin's help in battle. This is different in Ghost of Yotei, Because ATSU has a wolf mate.
This wolf will not constantly follow players around initially, but doing more Wolf assignments can level up the wolf's functionality and will make it hold more. For example, it is a cool gaming function to perform a shutdown with the wolf. Only another combat element makes this sequel more engrossing as a Samurai game.
The quick quick trip
An astonishing performance on PS5
PS5 is a much beefier console than PS4, which is what Ghost of Tsushima Originally launched on. PS5 port in the first game upgraded certain features, including better load times, but Ghost of Yotei was built from the ground up on PS5. This means that there are almost no load times, and saving is quick and easy.
A good example includes the fast travel system, which is lightning quickly. Practically every single place that players travel to, from cities to reflection salts, players allow them to quickly travel to them. Open-World Games with fast travel systems could learn a thing or two from Ghost of Yotei.
