The first trailer for Code violet teased a mix of gun-toting action sequences with terrifying dinosaur hunting sequences, perfectly blending the iconic horrors of both Dino crisis and Jurassic Park. And yet Code violet differs from its spiritual predecessors with a twisted new story of catastrophic events and biological tests. Set in the 15th century, Code violet follows protagonist Violet Sinclair, a young woman who wakes up in the Aion Bioengineering Complex overrun by prehistoric monsters. Violet must fight the cruel dinosaurs while learning the truth behind Aion's terrible experiments and plans. Code Violet Release Date and Deluxe Edition Update
The developer TeamKill Media announced it Code violet has finally gone gold and will be released on January 10, 2026. Along with the new release date, TeamKill Media also revealed that plans for a separate Standard and Deluxe Edition had to be scrapped to avoid another delay, but this is actually good news for fans. Anyone who purchased a Deluxe Edition of Code violet will receive a full refund from Sony via the PlayStation Store. Fans can then repurchase the game at its original Standard Edition price. The added bonus is that all exclusive items planned for the Deluxe Edition will now be included in the Standard Edition, meaning that any player who purchases Code violet will get the Tommy Gun weapon and special clothing for Violet without having to pay a luxury cost.
Similar to classic survival horror games, Code violet requires players to manage a limited inventory, forcing Violet to choose which weapons, health items, and puzzle-solving tools to bring with her. A modern third-person over-the-shoulder camera angle puts players right in the thick of the action during both melee encounters and tactical long-range attacks against the hungry dinosaurs chasing Violet across the Aion complex. Code violet takes advantage of PS5 hardware, offering ray-traced visuals, 3D audio and even haptic feedback via the PlayStation 5 DualSense controller, delivering a terrifyingly immersive sci-fi dinosaur survival experience.
Rumors of Dino crisis potential comeback has yet to be supported by any official announcements from Capcom, so Code Violet could be just what fans are looking for while they wait for possible revivals of the classic Dino crisis series.
