8 rare PS white games and how much they are worth
There are a lot of rare and expensive PS white games.
In order to measure the extent of this issue, a PS Vita collector decided to test every game they own for the system to decide who has deteriorated to the point where they can no longer be played, and who have survived – and thankfully it may not be as bad as we feared.
A player has tested 37 PS white games for signs of degradation
Before we start, it is worth noting that 37 games are not the biggest sample size in the world, but it is reasonable. It is probably at the upper end of what most average PS white owners will have, so it is a solid test for most people's collections.
Of the 37 games Lordsnuggleks_iii tested, all 37 worked, which is excellent news for them and those of you who are worried.
Usually, cartridges such as PS Vitas or Nintendo DS 'are expected to last between ten and 20 years, and many of the Redditor's play falls almost exactly in the middle of the bracket. Games they tested, such as resistance: Burning Skies, Persona 4 Golden, and Uncharted: Golden Abyss, launched in early 2012. If you are purchased at launch, these games are now about 13.5 years old, a perfect sign that you can drive the boundaries close to 15 years, you may not just want to.
There is still time to prevent your games from humiliating
Many games stop working due to electrons fleeing from the cartridge cells. When enough data has leaked, it gets damaged, making the information unreadable and the game unplayable. Thankfully, console manufacturers preceded this problem.
By simply popping back your game in the console with a few years and turning on it can be discovered and the system will correct them.
It may be a bit of an insane job, especially if you have lots of patron -based games, but at least they will work for a long time into the future.
