The Playstation Plus Games for August were recently announced, with the latest lineup deals of: Lies by sThe My hero: one's justice 2and Dayz To meet the service on August 5. A big surprise this time was that the disclosure came a full day earlier than the usual window. Playstation Plus has been on more of an active line in recent months, as the service has celebrated its 15th year, officially from June 29. This was preceded by The State of Play Showcase and the related days with gaming agreements that started earlier that month.
To mark the milestone, Sony has added more games than usual to PS Plus since then, along with other extra goodies such as advertising -GeAways and a handful of new avatars from popular titles for subscribers. And now, with the newest list that is announced a day early, this interruption from the norm may be an indication that the long -term and expected announcement days or times may not be so set in stone in the future.
July's PS Plus titles were also announced a few hours earlier than the standard time frame.

The PS Plus structure has been developed several times since its inception, with different levels of increasing price later introduced to match the greater number (and sometimes the perceived desire or quality) of titles and access to the classic catalog. For many years after the roll -out of Playstation Plus, the announcement of the upcoming Essential Games would usually come on the last Wednesday of each month. The three titles themselves would then meet the service on the first Tuesday next month, usually it is available to download from 13 PM EST. The extra and premium and enclosures came a few weeks later, around the middle of the month.
Although there have been some deviations here and there, Sony has largely followed this pattern for Playstation Plus for a good while, and players have become accustomed to reliably expect the above. But given that July revelations came a little earlier (but still on normal Wednesday) and now with August's PS Plus games that are published for a whole day ahead, there is the chance that this means that Sony is considering changing when the revelations will drop more often, which would be an interesting trip for the service.
Why August's PS Plus reveal time curvball may indicate a change of approach in the future
Sony has not exactly said why the above was the case for the latest range. It may be that it was part of Playstation Plus Special Anniversary Marathon as a pleasant surprise and treatment for subscribers, which made it an exception to the rule and a smaller, but not unwelcome, blip in the process. It is quite possible that things will return to business as usual for the rest of the year and seemingly in the future.
Nevertheless, this asks whether this will affect Playstation Plus when it comes to announcement. Although it is probably more of a distance to imagine that Sony will change when the titles actually meet PS+, this latest unexpected shift conversation opens to the idea that it may think about significant changes to when it lets players know the upcoming games. By revealing them earlier, it can generate more hype in advance, or let fans better prepare depending on the selected games. Time will tell you now, but it is really something to think about, and it will be exciting to see if, or how, this can affect the service along the line.
