Pokemon Pokopia Player builds the clock tower

A Pokémon fan named Ordato on Reddit has shared the impressive build they made of the clock tower from Pokemon Gold and Silver. The accuracy and level of detail in the build has impressed other fans, with the post receiving over 4,000 upvotes in a single day. Although the tower is not quite as tall as the original, the player has done an excellent job of recreating its appearance, especially with the flared roofs that real-life Japanese pagodas are best known for, upon which the bell tower is based. Although it looks like the tower has six stories, rather than the original ten stories of the bell tower, the building is quite large. Its sheer scale becomes apparent in the final screenshot, where the player can be seen standing on the roof.

Pokémon fans have showered Ordato with praise for their creation, and many have expressed how shocked they are that creating something like this is possible. Several have commented that the roof appears ready for Ho-Oh to land on, while others have praised the player's creative use of Magikarp statues on the roof's four corners in place of the Ho-Oh statues in the tower's depiction in Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver. The post has also prompted many players to express hopes that more regions like Johto will be added Pokemon Pokopia in the future via DLC or even a sequel.

For the unfamiliar, the Clock Tower – or Tin Tower, as it is sometimes called in the English-language versions of the games – is a landmark in Johto, the region of Pokemon Gold and Silver. The tower was originally one of a pair in Ecruteak City, but after the clock tower's neighboring east tower was destroyed by a fire from a lightning strike, only the clock tower remained. Legendary Pokemon Ho-Oh was known to sometimes sit on the clock tower before this event, and when the second tower burned down, it revived three Pokemon that had died there, which is how Raikou, Entei, and Suicune came to be. Players eventually climb the tower over the course of Pokemon Gold and Silver and its remake, where they can fight and capture Ho-Oh.

With that it is still very early days for Pokemon Pokopia and many interested fans of the franchise who haven't had a chance to play it yet, chances are this is just one of many impressive creations yet to emerge from the community. Players have been known to run similar games with the ability to build, such as Animal Crossing: New Horizons or Minecraftto the absolute limit to create whatever they set their mind to. It will be interesting to see how far Pokemon Pokopia community can drive the game and what other landmarks from the franchise will eventually be remade in the game.
