Pokemon Fan Artist Shares Awesome Cerberus Evolution For Pombon

Although some Pokémon fans have designed various evolution concepts of Pombon, one artist added his experience to the mix. On the official Pokemon subreddit, a user named BurgooKing shared his Pokemon concept called “Kebakarus”, the Wildfire Pokemon. Kebakarus is a fiery Cerberus-inspired quadruped that has orange fur, with some patches of gray and black fur on its legs, mane, and tail. Kebakarus also has two flaming heads on its sides attached to its mane, imitating the three-headed Cerberus depicted in Greek mythology. When Kebakarus is excited, the ends of its mane ignite, and that these flaming heads have dangerous minds of their own. According to BurgooKing, Kebakarus got its name from Kebakaran, the Indonesian word for “big fire”, and from the aforementioned Cerberus.

Furthermore, Kebakaru's design came before its name. With that in mind Pokemon winds and waves set in a tropical region based out of Southeast Asia, Kebakaru's name makes sense in the context of Gen 10's setting. Along with its Fire-type traits, Kebakarus also gained the Fairy-type. Fire and Fairy dual type pairing is currently unused in Pokémon series. However, given the friendly nature of Gen 10's Puppy Pokemon, it's possible that Pombo could officially evolve into a Fire and Fairy pet once Pokemon winds and waves arriving in 2027. BurgooKing said Kebakarus would have Blaze and Magic Guard abilities to choose from. Magic Guard prevents the user from taking indirect damage from status conditions, or from moves like Curse or Leech Seed. Should Pombo eventually evolve into a Fire and Fairy dual-type like Kebakarus, it would be an effective option against Dragon, Fighting, Grass, and Bug-type Pokemon during a battle. On the other hand, Kebakarus would be weak to poison, rock, and water attacks, although some of the damage from Poison-type Pokemon could be mitigated with the Magic Guard ability.

Pombon's potential evolution sparks fans' imaginations

In response, Pokémon trainers praised BurgooKing for their craftsmanship. Some fans said that the design of Kebakarus looks like one that could be officially used in Pokemon winds and wavesdespite being a fan-made creation. A few Redditors stated that the dual-type Fire and Fairy pairing for Pombon's evolved forms could be handy. Another trainer added that the Cerberus-inspired design would lean more towards Kebakarus being a Fire and Dark dual-type, similar to Houndoom. BurgooKing stated that they wanted a maned wolf for their Kebarakus concept. Since The Pokemon Company hasn't revealed too much information about the upcoming games so far, it remains to be seen what the fully evolved forms of each Pokemon winds and waves Appetizer critter will be.

Despite the limited information available on Pokemon winds and waves So far, the fan reception for Gecqua, Browt and Pombon has developed positively. With Pombon as the first dog starter of Pokémon franchise, only time will tell Pokemon winds and waves has plans for its Starter trio when the next generation begins.
