For Pokemon fans, this week was a pretty important week, what about the publication of the Mega Evolution set -up set, as well as a new distribution event on Gamestop. This one, which involves being able to claim a blank Koraidon or Miraidon via a one -time card.
Since anyone could have guessed to go into Friday's release, things went pretty badly, with Scalps chasing down every last bundle of mega evolution, and the free shiny cards that were quickly listed on eBay for unreasonable prices.
Wait, what? Yes, you read correctly. Distribution Pokemon is now scaled, with some lists coming within minutes after a store opening.
Something must be done to stop scalpers in their tracks
As first discovered by content creator Phillybeatzu on Twitter, the free game campaigns in the store have quickly flooded the eBay market.
In fact, a brief search for “Shiny Koraidon” on eBay gives several dozen results, all of which are remarkably expensive. In a list, the bid reached a single promotional code $ 47, while another seller, who reportedly has four campaigns at hand, sells theirs for a flat $ 90.
Finally, in probably the worst representation of Friday's event, a double pack of campaign cards, one for each shiny, has exceeded $ 130 in bids with still 16 hours to go.
As the user noted, something must be done to fight this. It is supposed to be a free campaign, but obviously it has led to people claiming much more than their fair share, all in an attempt to serve.
Some suggested a return to mystery gifts, while a user suggested a return to the past, when such events demanded that players actually bring in their console to get what was. However, a cure is needed, as the alternative is really not a positive development.
