Seven-Star Tera Raids return to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet after a four-month hiatus, as trainers will soon have the chance to face Hydreigon the Unrivaled. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players have just a few days to battle Hydreigon the Unrivaled in Tera Raid lairs scattered across Paldea.
Hydreigon, known as the brutal Pokémon, first appeared in Pokemon black and white as the pseudo-legendary monster of the Unova region. Hydreigon evolves from Deino and Zweilous, and is usually considered a Dark and Dragon dual-type creature. With three heads and access to various elemental attacks, Hydreigon is known for its versatility in competition Pokémon battles. While Fairy-type Pokemon like Sylveon and Tinkaton usually have an advantage against Hydreigon, that won't be the case in the upcoming Seven-Star Tera Raid battle.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Hydreigon Tera Raid Details (November 2025)
Soon, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will have a new Seven-Star Tera Raid battle for the first time since July, when Kommo-o the Unrivaled appeared in its Tera Raid. According to Serebii.net, Hydreigon the Unrivaled will appear in the Seven-Star Tera Raid dens starting Thursday, November 6th at 19:00 Eastern and ending on Sunday, November 9th at 18:59 Eastern. Pokémon coaches who miss the first round will get another chance next weekend, from November 13 to 16 at the same start and finish times. Hydreigon will be Poison-type as Tera-type and will give the Mightiest Mark to any Pokemon that defeats it. Statistically speaking, Hydreigon is a mixed attacker with slightly higher special attack power and average defense. While Poison Pokemon are usually weak to ground-type attacks, Hydreigon's ability, Levitate, makes it immune to moves like Earthquake.
However, Levitate can be effectively neutralized by moves like Smack Down and Skill Swap, but that's only part of the bet Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers can hold their own against Hydreigon the Unrivaled. Although Hydreigon the Unrivaled will have a newfound weakness to Psychic Pokémon attacks, it can counter them via Dark-type attacks like Crunch and Dark Pulse. Hydreigon the Unrivaled can also access moves like Flamethrower, Earthquake, Surf, and Dragon Pulse to cover as many potential bases as possible. Ergo, given the versatility that Hydreigon has, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers must wait for the seven-star Tera Raid battle to go live before forming any teams that can counter the brutal Pokémon.
Even if Pokemon Legends: ZA has taken over the attention of trainers, that hasn't stopped The Pokemon Company from supporting Pokemon Scarlet and Violet with new content. It remains to be seen what strategies trainers will create to take down Hydreigon the Unrivaled.
