Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Announce January Events

In a surprising announcement, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet revealed a five-star Tera Raid battle against Alolan Exeggutor and a mass breakout with Flamigo. Both events enter Pokemon Scarlet and Violet in mid-January and give trainers a limited time to catch Alolan Exeggutor without needing access to The Indigo Disk DLC.

Both events start after Pokemon Scarlet and Violet end one year of the snake mass outbreak. Exeggutor, known as the Coconut Pokémon, first appeared in Pokemon Red and Blue. Exeggutor was among the first Pokémon to receive a regional variant in Pokemon sun and moonas its Alolan version changed Exeggutor from a Grass and Psychic critter to a Grass and Dragon dual type. Taking inspiration from palm trees found in tropical areas, the Alolan Exeggutor is a hybrid attacker that can use moves like Dragon Hammer, Wood Hammer and Zen Headbutt. While the Alolan Exeggutor is a rare sight in the ninth game generation, it can be found in the terrarium's coastal biome.

Fixed capturing an Alolan Exeggutor Pokemon Scarlet and Violet usually requiring access to The Indigo Disk DLC, trainers can soon catch some in Paldea's Tera raid dens. According to Serebii.net, the Alolan Exeggutor Five-Star Tera Raid and Flamigo Mass Outbreak events will start on Thursday, January 16 at 7:00 PM Eastern and end on Sunday, January 19 at 6:59 PM Eastern. The event will only last for three full days, so Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers will have a limited time to participate. Alolan Exeggutor will have the Dragon type as Tera type and will be level 75. Ergo, a team of strong Fairy Pokemon that were useful in the Shiny Rayquaza Tera raid event, such as Tinkaton, Sylveon and Zacian, should come back in handy against the Coconut Pokémon.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will host Alolan Exeggutor Tera Raid and Flamigo Mass Outbreak events.
The event starts on January 16th at 7:00 PM Eastern and ends on January 19th at 6:59 PM Eastern.

As for Flamigo, the Synchronize Pokémon will appear in Mass Outbreaks throughout Paldea, with an increased chance to become Shiny before any modifiers are calculated. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players can use sandwich ingredients that provide both Sparkling Power for an increased shiny encounter speed and can be used to face Fighting or Flying Pokemon since Flamigo is a dual type. A sandwich with either Pickles or Prosciutto along with Salty and Spicy Herba Mystica should be enough to increase the odds of finding a Shiny Flamigo.

The latest Pokemon Scarlet and Violet event are the others that will take place in January. With Pokemon Legends: ZA will arrive in 2025, only time will tell how The Pokemon Company will keep players busy in the meantime.
