Pokemon Legends: ZA - The most astonishing revelations related to Pokemon X and Y

It might not be immediately obvious based on its title, but Pokemon Legends: ZA is actually a sequel to Pokémon X and Ya special distinction it shares with very few other mainlines Pokémon records (such as Black 2 and White 2). This newly released title takes place five years after the events of Generation Six's debut and, as a result, features appearances by many of its most iconic and beloved characters, who also play an important role in the recent story.

Needless to say, being able to meet the likes of Emma, AZ and many others after so many years is extremely nostalgic – especially for passionate fans of the Kalos region – but Pokemon Legends: ZA also hides several shocking and exciting twists that are related to Pokémon X and Ys classic action. From the whereabouts of other characters to the secrets hiding in Lumiose City, here are the most startling facts about the Kalos region revealed in Pokemon Legends: ZA.

A-Z is back

This 3,000-year-old legend now runs his own hotel

AZ is definitely one of Pokémon X and Ymost fascinating characters. After all, he's a 3,000-year-old immortal who used to be the king of Kalos and is directly responsible for the creation of the ultimate weapon that Lysandre tried (and failed) to use during that game's climax. Moreover, every Pokémon fan remember the heartbreaking final scene where AZ is finally reunited with her Eternal Flower Floette.

Pokemon Legends: ZA not only reveals that AZ is still alive, but he also plays an important role in the story. He is the owner of Hotel Z, where he lives with his Floette, and is basically Team MZ's mentor. To see AZ living a peaceful life after all he went through X and Y is very satisfying, but it is slowly made clear that he is still hiding many dark secrets and that he may have a final role to play in Legends: ZA exciting story.

The new Pokémon professor

Augustine Sycamore is the Kalos Region's designated Pokémon Professor. He researches Mega Evolution and gifts one of the Kanto starters to the player Pokémon X and Y. Since his laboratory was located in Lumiose City, some players may feel tempted to visit him, but they will soon find out that someone new has taken his place.

That's right: Mableone of Team Flare's former researchers, has replaced Sycamore as the head of the Pokemon Research Lab. She even mentions that she agreed to take the stand as part of a plea deal to avoid going to jail after the events of X and Y. As for Sycamore, he is nowhere to be found throughout the campaign Legends: ZAbut some pictures of him can be found hanging in the lab. Also, an NPC mentions that Sycamore and Trevor (one of the previous game's rivals) are researching together in another region.

She is the new lead detective at the Looker Bureau

Some Pokémon X and Y players may not have been aware of Emmas existence, as she is the star of an easily missed side quest. She was an orphan living in the alleys of Lumiose City who was manipulated by Team Flare's Xerosic and, with a little help from the player, was rescued by Looker, who basically adopted her and let her live with him at the Looker Bureau.

Pokemon Legends: ZA takes place five years after the events of X and Ywhich means that Emma is twenty-one years old now. On top of that, she's become a full-fledged detective and has turned the Looker Bureau into her own office, which is really nice to see after all she went through in the last game. Looker himself is completely absent Legends: ZA (even though Emma has a picture of him on her desk) but seasoned Pokémon fans are fully aware that he has made it to the Alola region, where he works alongside Anabel.

Lysandre lives

The main villain of Pokémon X and Y has taken on a new identity

Some Pokémon antagonists are extremely memorable, and others are very forgettable., Unfortunately, Lysandre, from Pokémon X and Y, belonged to the latter group for many years. Although he has a striking design, his motivations, actions and personality were very generic, especially compared to other villains in the series. The only thing most players remember about him is the fact that he was seemingly killed by the ultimate weapon he tried to fire during X and Ys climax.

However, on one occasion Legends: ZAthe player encounters a mysterious man who doesn't remember who he really is, so he simply walks by L. That's right, this is an amnesiac Lysandre, and the game later reveals that he survived the events of X and Y after being rescued by Zygarde. Now he devotes his life to helping the heroic legendary Pokémon. Lysandre's redemption arc is extremely unexpected, but it's also done very well, and it adds some much needed depth to this once forgettable Pokémon villain.

Team Flare still exists

Like its leader, Lysandre, Team Flare has always been considered one of the least interesting evil laws in history Pokémon franchise. Fortunately, Pokemon Legends: ZA reveals a lot of fascinating information about this organization, including its origins, its influence, and even the whereabouts of some of its members.

Team Flare was originally meant to be a place for people to help the less fortunate and many lives were improved by their actions (like Corbeau's) until Lysandre's delusions about Xerneas, Yveltal and the ultimate weapon led them down the wrong path. Shortly after the events of X and YGrisham, Griselle and a bunch of young officers created Team Flare Nouveaua secret new branch of the organization trying to continue its original purpose while trying to fix its tarnished reputation. Despite their aggressive personality, the members of Team Flare Nouveau are not evil, and even help the player on a few occasions, which is definitely an interesting and creative direction to take this plot thread.

Clemont And Bonnie Left Prism Tower

Lumiose City's resident gym leader was forced to leave his gym

Clemont is the Electric Gym Leader of Lumiose City, and his gym is located on top of the city's main attraction, the Prism Tower. But most fans probably remember him and his little sister, Bonniedue to their role as two of Ash Ketchum's companions in the Pokemon series: XY. When it was revealed that Pokemon Legends: ZA would take place entirely within Lumiose City, fans naturally assumed that Clemont and Bonnie would make an appearance in the game. Unfortunately, this never came to pass.

Between X and Y and Legends: ZAQuasartico Inc. closed Prism Tower to renovate it, so Clemont and Bonnie had to leave their home behind. An NPC mentions the brilliant inventor and his sister, both of whom used to hold quizzes and Pokemon battles inside the tower, so at least they are still remembered by the residents of Lumiose City. Hopefully both Clemont and Bonnie will appear in the upcoming one Mega dimension DLC.

Diantha is focusing on her acting career

The master doesn't seem to care about battles anymore

IN Pokemon Legends: ZAAZ and the members of Team MZ are searching for the strongest Mega Evolution trainer who can theoretically stop the mysterious power contained in the Prism Tower. While this role is obviously meant to fall to the main character, many fans can't help but wonder: what about Diantha? After all, the Champion of the Kalos Region is a powerful trainer with a Mega Gardevoir on her team, so it's a wonder she didn't show up to help Lumiose City during its latest crisis.

It is important to remember that Diantha is not only a Pokémon champion, but also a world famous actress. Various posters advertising her latest film can be found throughout the city, and one NPC even mentions that she is now focusing on her film career, so the most plausible explanation for her absence is that she is so busy that she can't focus on her duties as Champion anymore. Still, she's still a popular character whose absence is a bit disappointing, so hopefully she can pop up again in the future Pokémon game and/or in the upcoming DLC expansion for Legends: ZA.

There is another ancient weapon inside the Prism Tower

The ultimate weapon wasn't enough for A-Z, so he created Ange

Even if The Prismator is Lumiose City's largest and most iconic landmark, it is completely inaccessible to players, not only because Quasartico Inc. closed it for renovation, but also because something inside it is spreading Mega Power and causing wild Pokémon all over the city to suddenly Mega Evolve. Fortunately, the truth is finally revealed to the player in the final act of Legends: ZA: Two thousand years ago, AZ created yet another ancient weapon called State and placed it in the Prism Tower.

Ange is the star of one of the most over-the-top, memorable and thrilling final boss fights in history. Pokémon franchise. The protagonist must team up with Zygarde, Taunie/Urban and Eternal Flower Floette to fight this massive machine-monster hybrid and stop its destructive rampage. Due to Ange's existence, the Prism Tower itself plays a major role in the story of Legends: ZAwhich is pretty cool to think about. Unfortunately, AZ passes away shortly after Ange is defeated, making it one of the few times a human character in one Pokémon the post dies during the story, not to mention the player visits his tombstone after the credits.
