Pokémon GO has confirmed the debut of Silicobra and its development, Sandaconda, for its upcoming Sustainability Week event. 2026 has been a very active year for Pokémon GO with several major events in a row since January. The AR title recently launched its 10th anniversary season, Memories in Motion, which will conclude on June 2. In the following months, more monsters are expected to make theirs Pokémon GO debuts, including a Galar Ground type.
Even if Pokémon GOs first batch of Gen 8 creatures was released back in 2020, there are still some Galar Pokémon missing from the game's Pokedex. The development team continues to continuously add galarian monsters through limited events, such as the recently debuted Blipbug and its evolution during March's Bug Out event. Before this, Pokémon GO hadn't launched new Gen 8 Pokemon since December 2025. However, it seems players won't have to wait too long for the next Galar debut, as the game has revealed the addition of a popular snake-like Pokemon.

Pokemon GO Reveals Sustainability Week Event With Silicobra Debut
Pokémon GO has confirmed that its Sustainability Week 2026 event will debut the Ground-type Silicobra and its evolution, the Sandaconda. The event will run from Tuesday, April 14th to Monday, April 20th. Silicobra will start spawning in the wild and can evolve into Sandaconda with 50 Silicobra Candy. Silicobra is a very popular snake Pokémon that was first discovered in Galar, so many players anticipated its Pokémon GO debut. The Sustainability Week event will also debut the shiny variant of Toedscool and release the Galarian Corsola with pink sunglasses. However, Pokémon GO does not state if the costumed Corsola will be able to evolve into Cursola or not. Galarian Corsola with sunglasses will appear more often on Routes, along with increased chances of Shiny Togetic, Shiny Trubbish, and Shiny Lapras.
Event-themed Pokémon such as Castform, Seedot, Wiglett, Toedscool, and Silicobra can be found in the wild globally, but Pokémon GO adding that the latter three will spawn more often in their natural biome. The game doesn't describe what kind of environment Silicobra prefers, but it does hint that the Pokemon belongs to “desert-like areas”. Additionally, an event-exclusive GO Pass will go live, including rewards like half the egg hatch distance and double XP from spinning PokeStops. Players who purchase GO Pass Deluxe may also receive a limited avatar position. Finally, during Sustainability Week eggs at 7km will hatch Lapras, Togepi, normal Castform, Trubbish and Galarian Corsola with rose glasses. The event comes just after Tinkatink's much-anticipated April Community Day.
Sustainability Week is an annual in-game event that celebrates the actual Earth Day in April. After four consecutive years of holding the event, Pokémon GO team decided to skip the 2025 edition, but the event is making a comeback for 2026. In addition to the launch of Silicobra, this year's Sustainability Week focuses on Pokémon GO's Routes, the feature that promotes walking while playing with the game's community. Players looking to catch many copies of Galarian Corsola with pink sunglasses should not miss the event's Routes bonuses. Routes also allow fans to exchange gifts with players from around the world, increasing their chances of pinning non-local postcards for Vivillon replicas.
Memories in Motion will soon end its first month, but more exciting events have already been confirmed. On March 28, Pokémon GO will release Gigantamax Pikachu, one of the most requested Gigantamax debuts. The season trailer also teased the debut of Flittle and Espathra. Pokémon GO has not set a date for the release of these monsters yet, but players can expect an official announcement in the coming weeks.
