Mega Aerodactyl is best counteracted with a mega -developed Pokémon, a legendary or an ultra animal. Fortunately, with the introduction of more Pokémon, you have more counters for Mega Aerodactyl now than you did in 2024.

Most of the recommended charged attacks for Mega Aerodactyl counters can only be acquired via Elite TMS. You can get these from Go Battle Leagues. Otherwise you may need to hold on to second best loaded attack by the respective pokemon.
Iron Head (charged attack) turns into Behemoth Sword or Behoteh Bash when Zacian/Zamazenta changes to their crowned sword/shield forms via crowned swearing energy/crowned shield energy.
You also want to avoid bringing Pokémon which is weak against Rock and flight type movements. Mega Aerodactyl's quick attack and loaded attack is likely to be a rock type. In some cases it may have Dark Bite as a quick attack, which allows it to counteract the most ghost and mental pokemon or steel wing (Steel type), which gives it coverage against most river, ice and rock type Pokemon.
Shadow Pokemon is generally preferred for attacks because of their shadow bonus. As such, you might want to keep cleaning them. You also need your shadow Pokemon to learn a New loaded attackthat requires Stardust and Candy, because it cannot Forget frustration. You may even need to use a Charged TM If the new loaded attack is not what you wanted.
If you manage to defeat Mega Aerodactyl, you have the chance to catch it. While the meeting will not have aerostactyl in its mega developed form, it will reward you with a little mega energy (200 the first time; 40 energy every other time).
