There are many ways to evolve your Pokemon Pokémon GO, one of which requires the use of Lure Modules. Usually these items are used to lure Pokemon to a PokeStop for a short time, but there are some Pokemon that evolve when players use candies on them while they are within range of an active Lure Module.
Pokemon GO: A Complete Pokedex (January 2026)
The number that denotes a “complete” Pokedex in Pokemon GO can be confusing and complicated.
There are seven Pokémon GO Lure Evolutions in total, plus one or two Pokémon that will be easier to evolve when using Lures. This guide contains a complete Pokémon GO Lure Module Evolution List, as well as information on how to get more Lure Modules when you notice you're running low.

All Pokemon GO Rainy Lure Evolutions
Rainy Lure Module came into existence Pokémon GO in May 2021 and gives players an additional way to evolve Sliggoo into the pseudo-legendary Pokemon Goodra. Previously they had to wait until it rained in the game to do so, but now they can get Goodra by feeding Sliggoo 100 goomy candies within range of an active Rainy Lure Module. Sliggoo evolves from Goomy using 25 Goomy candies.
In addition to enabling Sliggoo's evolution, a Rainy Lure can be used to attract Water-, Bug-, and Electric-type Pokémon.
All Pokemon GO Mossy Lure Evolutions
Eevee has many evolutions and is especially known for them. Among them are two that require the use of a Lure Module. Players can get the grass-type Eeveelution, Leafeon, if they feed Eevee 25 Eevee candies when you are in range of a Mossy Lure Module. This mimics the Gen 4 games, where Eevee evolves into Leafeon when leveled near a Moss Rock.
In addition to being used to evolve Eevee into Leafeon, the Mossy Lure module will attract mostly Grass, Insect, and Poison-type Pokémon.
All Pokemon GO Glacial Lure Evolutions
In the Gen 4 games, Eevee evolves into the Ice-type Eeveelution, Glaceon, when leveled near an ice cliff. The equivalent in Pokémon GO is the Glacial Lure Module. If player feeds Eevee 25 Eevee candies while in range of an active Glacial Lure, it will evolve into Glaceon.
- Crabrawler ⟶ Crabominable
Crabrawler can also evolve when near an active Glacial Lure Module, if players allow it 50 Crabrawler candies. This mimics the original Sun & Moon the requirement to be on Mount Lanakila in Alola, although, as with Glaceon, this was changed in future installments.
Glacial Lure Modules are associated with ice types. However, they can attract both Ice- and Water-type Pokémon.
All Pokemon GO Magnetic Lure Evolutions
The first Magnetic Lure evolution is Magneton. The popular Steel/Electric type initially evolves from Magnemite after feeding it 25 candies. Magneton can then evolve into Magnezone using a Magnetic Lure and 100 Magnemite candies.
Next up is Nosepass, a Rock-type from Gen 3. When near an active magnetic lure, Nosepass can evolve into Steel/Rock-type Probopass, with the evolution also requiring 50 Nosepass Candy.
The final evolution of Magnetic Lure is Charjabug, a Bug/Electric type from Gen 7. After evolving from Grubbin using 25 candies, Charjabug can evolve into Vikavolt with 100 Charjabug candies while there is an active Magnetic Lure Module nearby.
In addition to evolving Magneton, Nosepass, and Charjabug, Magnetic Lures can be used to attract Electric, Steel, and Rock-type Pokémon.
Special Cases: Golden Lure Modules & Gimmighoul
Although the Golden Lure module is not needed to evolve a Pokemon, it can be very helpful in doing so. Specifically Golden Lure Module can fast track a player's attempt to evolve Gimmighoul into Gholdengo.
Here's how to do it:
-
Gimmighoul evolves into Gholdengo using 999 Gimmighoul coins instead of using candies. These coins are obtained in three different ways: catching Gimmighoul, joining Gimmighoul as your buddy, or spinning Golden PokeStops.
-
Gimmighoul will spawn for half an hour after using the coin pouch, which is activated by sending a postcard from Pokémon GO to Pokemon Scarlet & Violet.
-
After five days of sending postcards, the player will earn a Golden Lure Module, which can be activated at a PokeStop. This will transform the PokeStop gold for half an hour, spawn more Gimmighoul, and drop more Gimmighoul coins when spun.
-
Golden PokeStops also occur naturally without the use of a Golden Lure Module during certain events, where they will also drop Gimmighoul Coins, although they do not necessarily spawn Gimmighoul in the area.
How to get lure modules in Pokemon GO
There are a few ways to obtain cap modules needed for these developments. The first and most permanently available method is to just buy them from the game store. While a standard Lure Module is 100 Poke Coins, the special modules are a bit more expensive. Each Specialty Lure Module costs 180 Poke Coins.
It is worth noting that a player does not need to use their own Lure to evolve these Pokemon. Keeping an eye out for one that's active nearby is a great way to save some Poke Coins and still evolve a Pokemon. Search around to see if there are any active glacial, mossy, rainy or magnetic lures in the area to possibly use them first!
Community Days are often a good time to look for PokeStops that have been lured by other people. For example, during Grubbin Community Day, it was pretty easy to find PokeStops equipped with magnetic lures so people could evolve their newly caught shiny Charjabugs.
Some other ways to get specialty move modules include:
-
Store Packs: Some limited-time packs sometimes contain cap modules of various types. Players can check limited time offers from Pokémon GO Store page.
-
Special Research and Timed Research: Lure modules can sometimes be among the rewards for completing special research missions or timed research tasks
-
Collection Challenges: these limited time challenges have lures as rewards, sometimes
-
Leveling Rewards: Some of these baits are available as rewards for leveling trainers.
The Golden Lure module can only be obtained by sending five postcards (on five separate days) to Scarlet & Violet.
