Pokemon fans debate creatures with wrong typings, including Psyduck

For as long-running a franchise as Pokemon has been, there are still several questions that have yet to be answered. Some of that is part of the fun, like still not knowing what the inside of a Pokeball is like or why Pokemon can lay eggs.

Other parts still don't make sense, like why Ash was so bad at fighting despite having some Pokémon in his arsenal or why some Pokémon have the wrong type, like Psyduck not even being a “Psychic” type. Speaking of the latter, with Reddit, fans discussed some of the most egregious typos in the series' history.

We can probably stop bashing Ash since he is no longer part of the anime and missed. Also, he was probably bad for plot reasons. But he still should have been the ultimate winner.

Psyduck is up there, but there are so many worse examples!

Are we the only ones who are significantly bothered by these typos?

OK, now that we've established that Psyduck's typing annoys everyone to no end, we can list out all the other Pokémon that are just as bad, if not worse, because of how the typing affects team building.

“There's no reason why Noctowl shouldn't be a flying/psychic type,” one user wrote. “It is apparently extremely intelligent which is not exclusive to psychic types but is a common factor, and it can learn many psychic moves.”

Here's one we didn't think of – Glalie. “Why on earth is that not Ice and Rock-Type?” one user asked, especially considering, as they noted, its body is made of rock which it then covers in ice!

All of these complaints aren't even relegated to basic Pokemon you can find in the overworld, as there are some inconsistencies with the legendaries as well! “Lugia is the lord of the sea and lives underwater and creates eddies of water. Yet he is not a water type,” one fan described.

Lugia isn't the only big moon to catch strays, as other users wondered why Celebi and Jirachi just weren't “Fairy” to begin with! Add it to the list of unanswered questions that desperately need answers.

The thread, which has topped 1.6K replies, is worth a read if you're super into Pokemon writing or have complaints about how broken some of these features are despite appearing to be the ultimate slam dunks. Personally. Gangs shouldn't be “Married”. I will not explain more.
