Pokemon Lucky Red Envelope celebrates the Lunar New Year in style
With the Lunar New Year set to enter the Year of the Horse on February 17th, talented Redditor aymehq shared her incredible lucky red envelopes, which have been designed to contain some of the horse-based Pokémon. The designs included are Ponyta, Rapidash, Glastrier, Mudbray, Blitzle, and Spectrier, which are Pokémon that span different generations. The design looks right at home on the red envelopes, which are traditionally handed out during the Lunar New Year as a symbol of good luck. Some Pokémon damn to receive one of those red envelopes would be lucky indeed.

Fans in the thread were extremely impressed with the creation, with one user saying they would “easily think this is official merch.” One user lamented the lack of Mudsdale, but it is sort of represented in its previous development, Mudbray. Realistically, putting many more Pokémon on these red envelopes can make them look a little too busy, and aymehq has found the balance between including as many designs as possible while not being overwhelming to look at.
The concept of Pokémon red envelope designs have been done before. One year another talented fan did Pokémon The oak red envelope designed to celebrate the Year of the Snake. The series has always inspired incredible fan art, with over 1,000 Pokémon designs to choose from, and its growing popularity means it's unlikely to slow down anytime soon.
