Sony quotes operational problems for the interruption.
PSN breaks are finally over, and Sony compensates for it by giving Playstation Plus Members a free service extension. Playstation's internet services were out for about 24 hours, which frustrated many players in the process, but it is now started as normal again. While the interruption affected all Playstation users lost Playstation Plus subscribers most, as the interruption temporarily took online Multiplayer from the table, so Sony does it for it by expanding these subscriptions.
Fans first noticed that PSN was down in the evening on Friday, February 7. The official Ask Playstation Twitter account confirmed that PSN was back online around 19:00 EST the next day, which is far from the longest interruption in PSN history but was really long enough to cause movement among the Playstation users.

Fans angry over Sony's lack of communication after 17 hours of PSN breaks
When the Global Playstation Network break enters its 18th hour, fans worldwide Lambast Sony about its lack of status updates.
After telling the fans that PSN was working again, Ask Playstation Twitter account issued an apology along with the promise of an automatic five-day extension for all PS Plus subscriptions. The update and comfort come after many users expressed disappointment at Sony's lack of communication on the issue during the interruption. The team behind Marvel Rivals Commented the PSN break before Playstation himself offered a lot of insight into the situation in addition to admitting that some users had problems with the service. Several fans demanded a refund in the midst of the lack of detail, and it seems that Sony has listened.
PS Plus users receive an automatic 5-day extension after the PSN break
While the PSN breaks in itself lasted one day, Sony PS Plus gives subscribers five free days service to compensate for it. Interestingly, at least one company Playstation hit the punch in compensating affected users, as Krispy Kreme gave away free monks during a two -hour window after news about the spread of interruption. It is also worth noting that Sony has not mentioned any compensation for non-subscriptions. Those without PS Plus may still have been affected, as the interruption made it impossible to use streaming services for some time, and some games with a player require a PSN login but not a PS Plus account. Still, the interruption did not represent a loss of money for these users, which may explain why Sony can focus on PS Plus subscribers.
Sony has also not explained what caused the interruption apart from calling it an “operational issue.” Some fans compared this latest break with Sony Hack 2011, which took PSN Offline for weeks. While Sony is reportedly handling hackers as late as 2023, the interruption can just as easily be an everyday technical problem. The company may reveal more in the future, but at the moment players can at least enjoy their free PS Plus extension to compensate for the lost service.
