Perth real estate agent lists

Just when you thought the real estate market couldn’t get any worse, a real estate agent listed a house for sale that he admitted was the worst-presented house he’s ever shown.

The house, located at 19 Ryland Rd, Kelmscott, in Perth’s south-east, was described as “dirty” by O’Neil Real Estate residential sales consultant Ash Swarts.

Mr Swarts told potential buyers they simply had to take a look at the Perth property, because there was nothing crazier.

“Why is it present on the market? The current owners have up and left,” she said in the listing.

“Everything you see here is included in the sale, so you better be ready to get your hands dirty because you’re definitely going to get them dirty here.”

The “Kelmscott Enigma” can be viewed online with photos showing room after room ravaged by old junk and furniture left there by the current owners.

“It’s really horrible,” Swarts admitted in the online ad.

“Don’t even look at what’s in there in the bathroom.”

The house is advertised on the agent’s website as a fix-up upper, but “more of an extreme makeover waiting to happen.”

“This new home, unfortunately, has taken a detour down Damage Lane, offering a unique blend of opportunity and adventure.”

The four-bedroom home boasts a floor-to-ceiling ceiling that was “more on the floor than overhead” and was “perfect for those who appreciated the view of the interior sky.”

The bathrooms are complete with surprise features, including a bong that was thoughtfully “left for your, er, recreational enjoyment,” while the living room included a treasure trove of old furniture that would be perfect for lighting the fireplace.

The house was built in 1977 and is currently on the market in Perth’s south-east for under $500,000.

“Viewing is highly recommended,” the agent said.

“Bring your flashlight, your sense of humor and maybe a hazmat suit. “
