Peacemaker season two replaces the Justice League with DCU's Justice Gang

Peacemaker season two has started and continues the new appearance DCU after a successful theatrical driving for Superman. Since peacemakers season a sank during a difficult handing period between DCEU and the restarted DCU, there has been some confusion about what is and not canon. James Gunn has made it a little clearer by simply replacing Justice League's Cameo in Peacemaker's Season One Recap.

DCEU's Justice League type shows up during Peacemaker's season a final. Shortly after John Cena and the show's other protagonists defeat the butterflies, the heroic group's core members arrive. They are all technically there, but only Aquaman and Flash's faces appear, the two have a short exchange after the peace maker accuses Jason Momoa's underwater hero to get involved in unpleasant relationships with fish.

Now that they are gone we may never find out if these rumors were true.

Season two starts with a “earlier on” to catch people. Helpful as it has been three years since Peacemaker season one. The scene where peace maker and the gang go past the Justice League is part of the summary, except they no longer pass the Justice League. Justice League has been replaced with Justice Gang, so instead of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash, are the late arrivals Superman, Hawk Girl, Green Lantern and Mr. Terrific.

The scene is a sliding-by-shot remake by the one used in season one, right down to two characters who get proper comos when participating in an oral exchange. These characters are now Green Lantern and Hawkgirl instead of Aquaman and Flash. Hawkgirl notifies peace maker a Meathead, and Green Lantern replies, “He tells people that I am a Puke Freak”.

That line is a reference to another retroactive change in events in Peacemaker season one to delete all tips that DCEU's Justice League is still in this universe. A scene that showed that peace tasters dry after hearing John Economo's spy has been replaced with Cena's anti-hero who made the “Puke Freak” accusations Green Lantern references in the heavily edited Justice League scene.

Just to make sure that all loose ends are bound, the summary contains even a phone call that Leota Adebayo has made to her mother, Amanda Waller, during which she asks if she can call in the Justice League. In the retconed version, Leota asks his mother to, you guessed it, call Justice Gang instead.

Trying to transition from DCEU to DCU would always be messy business, especially when Gunn was responsible for some of the former more popular projects he does not want to delete, even though they happened together with DC projects that are now officially not in this restarted universe. Interestingly, Gunn does not seem to have gone back and changed the scene where Harley Quinn is mentioned during Peacemaker season one, which suggests that Margot Robbie's version of the character can still exist in his new DCU.
