Overwatch 2 Has seemingly teased his 45th hero via a banner and a weapon screen found on the new stadium map, Arena Victoriae. These new clues confirm several other teasers fans have found for this character, which strongly suggests the mysterious gladiator hero Overwatch 2 Season 20.

During Overwatch 2Latest Spotlight event revealed Blizzard two of the three heroes coming in 2025: Freja, a mobile injury hero that released in season 16, and a watery support as currently the code name “Aqua.” However, players have found several teasers for the third hero since then, including a doodle of a sword-practicing gladiator seen in Overwatch 2 Spotlight and place holder text in Brigitte's hero side that said “Gladiators will be happy.”

Overwatch 2 reveals a preview for Season 16: Stadium, with the eponymous new gaming mode, adorable mythical skins and an out-of-this world's collapse.

Now fans have discovered some more teasers that strongly support Hero 45 as a melee gladiator of some kind. Players discovered two Easter eggs while Playtesting Arena Victoriae, a new control map from Overwatch 2Stadium-game mode: A banner with the silhouette of a gladiator that exerts a high-tech sword or spear, as well as a screen with the same weapon. Both assets are marked with the XLV – the Roman numeral for 45 – but the banner also has the words “Lau luca della ritorsione”, which translates to “The Wolf of Retribution” or “retaliation” in Italian. Overwatch Cavalry shared pictures of both of these teasers together on Twitter.

Based on the shape of the weapon, this fighting is not Camilla, Titus or Magnus – the three mechanical gladiators whose statues are on the Colosseo map. The silhouette on the banner looks quite different from Zephyrus, one of the two gladiators that has ads on the same map, and although it is more similar to his competitor Maximus, the Italian definitive article “LA” is used on the banner associated with feminine nouns. This, plus the former teaser that suggests it Overwatch 2 May have tested this hero's kit on Brigitte's model, suggests Hero 45 identifies as a female and is probably a whole new character.

Assuming this mysterious gladiator is Hero 45, they will almost certainly be a mere -oriented injury or thought character. Considering Overwatch 2 Gets a DPS and support in 2025 already, a tank would fit its release cadence better, especially since the injury role already has most of the help alternatives. That said, Reinhardt is already a dedicated melee tank, and heroes like Doomfist and Hazard have significant melee aspects on their kits, while Genji is the closest to a melee injury hero in Overwatch 2 Right now.
