Arrowhead Games Studios CEO Shams Jorjani has commented on the possibility of cross-platform development Helldivers 2 in the future. While it doesn't appear to be on the verge of arriving anytime soon, the update certainly isn't all bad news either Helldivers 2 player.
Helldivers 2 is one of the most successful games in recent years, after its incredible release in early 2024. It was originally launched on PC and PlayStation 5 only, leaving the Sony-published game out of reach for Xbox users. But everything changed in August 2025, then Helldivers 2 finally released on Xbox Series X/S. With the game coming to another platform, player demand for cross-platform progression has only increased over time, but Arrowhead's CEO has seemingly put a damper on it for now.
Helldivers 2 CEO Says “Other Things Take Priority” Over Cross-Platform Development
Gone in Helldivers 2 Discord, CEO Jorjani responded to a fan about the possibility of adding cross-platform progression to the game. His response claims that “we would love to add platform progression but other things take priority.” Whether this is good or bad news is a matter of perspective. Sure, it's too bad it's not imminent Helldivers 2 have far more pressing questions, but Jorjani didn't completely shut down the idea. That the studio would “love” to add the feature gives some hope that cross-platform progression could come sometime in the distant future.
For now, the reluctance to add cross-platform progression to Helldivers 2 makes a lot of sense from the developer's perspective. The studio recently claimed that it is changing its approach to Helldivers 2s development, prompted by ongoing performance issues that only seem to be getting worse. As good as a feature like cross progression would be for many players, it seems like something that can wait and come further down the line.
right now, Helldivers 2 looking to release new patches every two weeks to iron out the frustrating performance issues. It may be a while before the game is back on track to its more typical content roadmap, as the developer hasn't given any indication of how long it plans to maintain its approach.
