This article contains spoilers from One Piece's Elbaf Arc.
When it comes to the mighty pirates in the One Piece world, fans know very well that Pirate King, Gol D. Roger is always up there with the best of the lot. As Oda himself said, Roger had all the wealth, fame and power, and in his time, he was known to be the strongest piratewith his only two equal Whitebeard and Garp. Roger was an absolute beast at the peak of his powers. But recently reveals One Piece have confirmed it After all, Roger wasn't the strongest pirate.
IN One Piece's Elbaf bow, Oda has officially revealed a pirate even stronger than Gol D. Rogeralthough there is a catch. This pirate is none other than the Domi Reversi'd version of Rocks. After Imu Domi Reversi'd Rockshe became stronger than ever before and gained more strength and speed. At the same time, he gained an immortal body. With all these powers, he is the most powerful pirate in One Piece in recent historyeven stronger than Roger and Whitebeard.

Roger needed Garp's help to beat Rocks
For years, fans argued about who the strongest pirate in the world is One Piece really where, not counting the ones we haven't seen, like e.g Joy Boy and Davy Jones from the empty century. Of course, Roger, the late Pirate King, comes close to the top.
Rocks, I can't let you go after my crew. What have you become? — Gol D. Roger to Rocks
Oda himself portrayed Roger as the strongest. In fact, even the man most powerfully summoned after the Pirate King's death was praised by Oda by being portrayed as Roger's equal, such was the strength and standing of the late Pirate King.
But prime Roger is not the strongest pirate in One Piece. It is none other than Domi Reversi'd Rocks D. Xebec. At God Valley, Rocks was officially Domi Reversi'd by none other than Imuand he grew in terms of power and gained immortality. With a buff like that, none of Big Mom, Kaido, or Whitebeard could stand in his way. While Roger and Garp managed to fight him and even defeated him in the end, it's quite clear that they needed to team up to beat him. Without each other, they wouldn't have been able to take down the Rocks. Individually, Roger was weaker than Domi Reversi'd version of Rocks D. Xebec.
Move me out of the way! There are voices on this island that must be erased. — Rocks D. Xebec to Whitebeard
Without Domi Reversi, Prime Roger is probably stronger
Roger got stronger after God Valley
The fact that Roger and Garp had to team up because of Domi Reversi also confirms that without this demonic buff from Imu, Rocks wasn't actually that much stronger than Roger and Garp. When you take into account that neither Roger nor Garp were in their prime at God Valley, it becomes even more clear that they are indeed stronger than the Rocks without Domi Reversi at their peak.
Roger peaked after God Valley and became a great pirate. Garp became the hero of the Marines and gained greater strength. Both were likely stronger than rocks in their primebut none of them could beat Domi Reversi'd Rocks individually.
